New General Manager, Spa Director and Director of Marketing Employ Industry Expertise to Continue Reputation as Premiere Destination Wellness Retreat

 

TUCSON, Ariz. – Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa announced today the appointments of Laura McIver as general manager of the resort and Grant Bruce as spa director of the award-winning Life in Balance Spa with Clarins. This follows the recent appointment of Jill Harlow as director of marketing. With more than 56 collective years of industry experience, the new management team will oversee operations and lead initiatives to continue Miraval's established reputation as the premiere destination resort and spa in the world. Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa is owned and managed by KSL Resorts, a full-service hotel management company that oversees a collection of resort destinations coast to coast.

 

McIver, Bruce and Harlow will continue to further Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa's core philosophy of living life in the moment through innovative, life-enhancing programming that ensure the physical, emotional, spiritual, social and intellectual being are in harmony.

Luxury Hospitality Expert Laura McIver as General Manager

McIver brings 24 years of hospitality operation and management experiences and will lead the world-renowned Miraval team to continue advancing the resort as the premiere wellness retreat and spa in the world.

 

McIver has honed her skills at some of the most prestigious properties in California. Prior to her new role at Miraval, Laura served as the general manager of Belmond El Encanto Hotel in Santa Barbara managing the entire renovation, executive staffing and reopening processes of the property in 2013. Her dedication to maintaining high standards and goals for the property helped El Encanto to achieve the Forbes Five-Star accolade in an unprecedented ten-month period. Previously, McIver served in directorial and managerial roles as general manager of Canary Hotel, resident manager of Hotel Casa Del Mar and corporate director of food and beverage at Shutters on the Beach. During her time with the Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, McIver served as area director of catering for Argonaut Hotel, director of catering for Hotel Monaco, and oversaw banquet operations at Serrano Hotel. McIver began her hospitality career as an executive receptionist at The Claremont Hotel Club & Spa and continued to grow with the hotel, eventually securing the title of Assistant Director of Banquets.

 

Wellness Veteran Grant Bruce as Director of Spa

With more than 12 years of industry experience, Grant Bruce will manage all spa operations to create balance and promote a sense of well being at the highest benchmarks of service in the new 16,000-square-foot spa facility.

 

Most recently, Grant spent three years in director roles at Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago, Ill. where he oversaw the spa and fitness operations to consistently achieve Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond status. Previously, Bruce served in management roles at prominent hospitality brands including Canyon Ranch Spa at The Venetian, W Chicago Lakeshore and Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. Bruce is an alumnus of The University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration.

 

Award-Winning Strategist Jill Harlow as Director of Marketing

Harlow comes to Miraval with more than 20 years of experience in which she will utilize to spearhead the resort's marketing and brand communications efforts, including advertising and public relations.

 

Before joining Miraval, Harlow served as director of marketing for RED Development, LLC, where she established, maintained and executed marketing initiatives for RED Development's Arizona properties, including Hilton Village, Aspen Place and The Shops at Norterra, among others. Prior to that, Jill worked with General Growth Properties in the roles of group vice president of marketing, marketing director and group marketing manager. While at General Growth, Harlow received several prestigious awards, such as the ICSC Maxi and the GGP Pro Team awards, recognizing her expertise in tourism and shopping center marketing. Harlow graduated from Missouri State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Management.
