About New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association
New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association promotes mental wellness for people in recovery of mental illness and for their families and the general public with the ultimate goal of equal opportunities, social inclusion, acceptance and full community participation. It is a non-profit making welfare organization providing quality community-based rehabilitation services for people with mental illness. Some of its many ventures include Healthy Living Specialty Shops, New Life Restaurants and an organic farm in Hong Kong's New Territories which offers eco-tours and educational programs on healthy living.
InterContinental Hong Kong has been supporting New Life for over a decade. We have helped to train some of the New Life chefs by conducting a series of workshops. In addition, we have hired seven New Life “service users”, who have been working in “back of house” areas for over eight years. We also purchase vegetables grown in the New Life Farm and other organic products from the New Life Healthy Living Specialty Shop. We even have an “InterContinental Garden” at the New Life Farm where its chefs grow organic produce for our restaurants. We also organise several community service and fundraising activities in association with New Life, including a Festive Season charity sale of gift items produced by New Life service users.
