In his first trip to Malaysia, Michel Roux will bring a taste of his highly acclaimed three-Michelin-starred restaurant The Waterside Inn to The Datai Langkawi. Accompanied by chef Simone Tricarico, pâtissier Stephanie Aubriot and Jordi Fumado from his front of house team, Roux will host three five-course dinners and a masterclass at The Datai Langkawi from 18 to 20 February 2016. These exclusive showcase events will enable guests to meet and learn from one of the world's most celebrated chefs and indulge in the very best food and wine in one Southeast Asia's most exotic locations.

Along with the members of his accomplished team who will work with him at The Datai Langkawi, Michel Roux will be accompanied by the master sommelier, Pierre Bat, of Bordeaux's Maison Veyret La Tour. Michel Roux and Pierre Bat will both meet and greet guests during the dinners, which will start with a Champagne and canapé reception, where Michel Roux's own label Champagne will be served. Pierre will assist guests with wine suggestions and pairings. The dinners will be held in The Datai's stylish poolside restaurant The Dining Room.

For guests wanting to gain even more from their time with Michel Roux, he will host a masterclass in which he and his team will show participants how to prepare with finesse an inspired three-course lunch, which they will all then share and enjoy. Participants will take away recipes, a Michel Roux apron, a copy of Michel Roux's latest book The Essence of French Cooking and a signed certificate.

Looking ahead to his residency, Michel Roux said: “This will be an incredible partnership; I am overjoyed at the prospect of cooking at this iconic hotel in such a magical location.  I cannot wait to work with Arnaud Girodon, who is such an inspired General Manager, and to spoil and inspire his guests at The Datai.”
