Michael Bolton & Anita Baker To Lead The Line Up At The Cayman Islands Fifth Annual Jazz Festival

Cayman Islands Department of Tourism

The Cayman Islands jazz festival, Jazzfest, now in its fifth year, continues to attract legendary names to perform alongside modern rising stars as it makes a name for itself as one of the Caribbeans most popular jazz festivals

Michael Bolton and Anita Baker, who between them have notched up innumerable Grammy Awards and sold millions of records, will be leading the line up at Jazzfest in Grand Cayman over 4th to 6th December, alongside Angie Stone, Gerald Albright, Cassandra Wilson, Algebra, Robin Thicke and Terrance Howard.

Jazzfest is fast becoming established as one of the Caribbeans top annual music events, and its ability to attract names such as Bolton and Baker is testament to its popularity with artists and audience alike. As one of the most sophisticated of all Caribbean countries with a strongly cosmopolitan cross-culture and easy, relaxed lifestyle, the Cayman Islands is becoming known for staging one of the regions most genteel of music events, yet with no lack of Caribbean charm and appeal.

JazzFest is held over three days, with each event kicking off at 1900 hours. The first night is held at the birthplace of Caymans democracy, Pedro St James; the second two nights on Pageant Beach, at the southern end of Seven Mile Beach. Tickets cost from US$60 (app 35) and US$90 (app 51) per evening with discounted two and three day passes available for those wishing to attend more than one event (children under 12 are admitted free of charge).

Those wishing to stretch their legs after listening to world class music for three days can compete in the Cayman Marathon which kicks off at 5 am on Sunday 7th December. A half marathon is also open for overseas registration. Those less inclined to engage in strenuous exercise can enjoy over 100 restaurants, locally brewed beer and rum, miles of white sand beaches and some of the best snorkelling and diving in the world.
