UK travellers can now book ferry travel from Miami to the Bimini Islands in the Caribbean with Direct Ferries, the ferry comparison site. Direct Ferries is the first European agent to work with FRS Caribbean which offers the only high-speed ferry service between Miami and Bimini.

FRS Caribbean, a subsidiary of German maritime company FRS started operating this route, its first and only route in the Caribbean, in September 2016. The high-speed catamaran, San Gwann, accommodating up to 427 passengers will run four weekly return sailings between Miami and Bimini port. Accessible as a day trip and overnight stay destination, return fares start at £56.

Located just 49 nautical miles from Miami, the Bimini Islands are the closest of all the Bahamian Islands to the US mainland and can be reached in two hours by ferry. Once the favourite escape of Ernest Hemingway the Bimini Islands boast miles of pristine white sandy beaches, azure waters ideal for diving and an array of exquisite dining options.
