Meriski (01285 648518; www.meriski.co.uk), the luxury catered chalet operator in the French resort of Méribel, is offering two complimentary nights' accommodation and a further £2,250 off a nine-night stay at Chalet Le Pousse Caillou over New Year, with the chalet now available for £20,250 from 30 December to 8 January.

The Prestige chalet (above, centre), sleeping 10 adults and four children, has just joined Meriski's collection following a complete refurbishment. Features include an outdoor sunken hot tub, cinema room with 65-inch satellite TV, Sonos sound system and contemporary Ligne Roset furnishings.

Meriski is also offering two complimentary nights' accommodation and further savings at Chalet Phoebe over the same period. The six-bedroom Luxury property is available on a shared basis at £1,599 per person, based on two sharing, down from £1,800, for nine nights from 30 December to 8 January.

With the school holidays booking up fast, the New Year availability is great news for families. Meriski only has one chalet left for half-term, Chalet L'Ardour, sleeping 12, at £17,500 for the week of 12 February. At Easter, there are just a few weeks remaining. For the week beginning 26 March, Chalet Kashmir costs £16,500 and Chalet Bambis costs £13,500. For the week of 9 April, Chalet Kalliste and Kalliste Annexe can be booked together for up to 10 adults and four children under 12 years for £9,000, a saving of £1,500.

Meriski is a great choice for families. It is the only chalet operator in the resort with a dedicated crèche and also offers a private in-chalet nanny service. Plus, there's a ski school collection for children who require lunch and afternoon childcare. Facilities in the chalets include toboggans, Bluetooth speakers, TVs and DVD players, books, music and DVD libraries, Nintendo Wiis, toys and game boxes. Internet access is free, too. A supervised high tea is served for children at about 5.30-6pm on eight of the nine evenings, allowing adults some grown-up time.

Catered chalet prices include accommodation, exclusive concierge service, in-resort driver service between 8am and 10pm, breakfast, afternoon tea, children's high tea if appropriate, sparkling wine and canapés before a four-course dinner on eight nights, and wine, beer and soft drinks throughout the stay.

Meriski holidays are priced for chalet board accommodation only, but the team can offer advice on travel to the resort. The nearest airports are at Geneva and Lyon, plus train services run from London St Pancras International to Moûtiers-Salins-Brides-Les-Bains.
