The Hotel Windsor has been an absolute favourite for Mother's Day for well over 100 years and The Hotel does everything possible to provide deserving mothers the most amazing Mother's Day experience in Australia.
Set in Melbourne's historic Windsor Hotel, the ever popular Mother's Day afternoon tea is steeped in tradition having attracted generations of families, who return year-after-year for one of the city's most memorable experiences.
Guests will receive a complimentary glass of French sparkling wine on arrival, before being presented with the hotel's famed menu of fine teas. The afternoon tea is beautifully presented on three-tiered stands inspired by 134 years of tradition, and will be perfectly complemented by an indulgent dessert buffet and seamless service.
Mother's Day Traditional Afternoon Teas will be hosted in the hotel's elegant One Eleven Spring Street Dining Room and heritage-listed Grand Ballroom.
This year due to increased demand, an extravagant Mother's Day Afternoon Tea Buffet in the contemporary Bourke Room will be added as an alternative to its traditional three-tiered stand offering. Guests can select an array of freshly-made, wonderful savoury items at their own leisure from an indulgent banquet table, as well as sweet selections from previous seasonal offerings such as Crème Brulee, Black Forest Gateaux, Anzac Sandwich and the Lamington, to name but a few.
As an added element of luxury, all Mothers will receive a special gift from The Hotel Windsor, a delicious and delicate Paris-Brest, a sweet choux pastry filled with praline cream.
The Hotel Windsor has been serving its lauded afternoon tea since 1883, remaining faithful to classic combinations such as exquisite savoury pastries, delectable finger sandwiches, a selection of fancies, and freshly baked vanilla and raisin scones served with lashings of clotted cream, Windsor raspberry jam and a delicate lemon curd.
