Meet Santa and his reindeer in Cornwall

With reindeer nestled in their festive stable overlooking the coast at the heart of the wintery Cornish countryside, the Gwel an Mor resort is the perfect location to fully embrace the Christmas spirit. As well as delivering five star multi-award winning holidays, Gwel an Mor creates great events for locals and visitors alike in their events barn with Christmas celebrations being a highlight in the calendar.

A meet Santa experience at Gwel an Mor is truly magical, with the chance to visit Father Christmas in his twinkling grotto, spend time with his real reindeer in their barn, getting to stroke and learn all about them, then have pictures taken aboard the sleigh.  Meaning 'Merry' and 'Christmas' in Cornish language, the reindeer brothers are called Nadelik and Lowen and live at Gwel an Mor year round at the resort's wildlife and conservation centre - Feadon Farm.

The Christmas season at Gwel an Mor and meet Santa experiences kick off with their Festive Fair on the weekend of Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th November running from 10am - 6pm. Filled full of yuletide fun, in addition to meet Santa there will be family entertainment, craft activities, enjoy warming food and drink plus the opportunity to grab unique Christmas gifts from local producers, all housed in Gwel an Mor's beautiful events barn. Book in to meet Santa and his reindeer over the Festive Fair weekend or visit on Wednesdays and Sundays throughout December (£15 per child to meet Santa, the reindeer, receive a gift plus a voucher to return for a free soft play session at Base Camp, the resort's newly opened indoor soft play centre).

Either visit for the day or if you want to make a weekend of it and stay at the resort, prices start at £439 for a weekend break in a luxury 5 star Scandinavian style lodge sleeping 4 with the resort currently running a 20% discount.

As well as enjoying the Christmas themed activities at Gwel an Mor on the North coast of Cornwall in Portreath, guests can also indulge at The Wellbeing Spa and make the most of the indoor pool and leisure facilities, delight in the locally sourced winter menu in The Terrace restaurant and challenge themselves to the climbing walls and soft play at the newly opened Base Camp indoor play centre, all onsite. Cornwall is a great destination at this time of year with events including ice skating at the Eden Project, Mousehole lights, Winter Wood by Rogue Theatre closeby at Tehidy Country Park, the pantomime at Hall for Cornwall plus many other Christmas markets and fairs. For guests staying at Gwel an Mor over Christmas, there will be a children's Christmas party both on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve plus the extra special Christmas day lunch can be booked
