On July 20, South Florida Museumwill host Snooty's 65th Birthday Bash, Arts and Wildlife Awareness Festival to celebrate the world's oldest known manatee. The celebration will be full of fun activities for holidaymakers of all ages with food, children's games and activities, entertainment, and wildlife awareness presentations to learn more about manatees.
Snooty, a West Indian manatee, was born on July 21, 1948 on the Prinz Valdemar, a Danish warship that has been turned into a floating restaurant and aquarium. He has been a permanent resident of South Florida Museum since 1949 and is now Bradenton's most loved celeb!

The festivities culminate with the crowd singing Happy Birthday to Snooty as he is presented with his birthday "cake" made from fruits and veggies. There is also reduced general admission offered to the museum ($8 for adults, $6 for children ages 4 - 12).
