The Saxon Elector Augustus the Strong was one of the most powerful people in Germany and in the 18th century largely responsible for Saxony's “Golden Age”, turning Dresden into a European capital of culture and laying the foundations for Saxony as a top destination for culture-loving travellers. Reason enough for SIGHTGEIST – THE SAXONY MAGAZINE to dedicate its upcoming edition to this larger-than-life figure to take a closer – and humorous – look at a man who had a special love for porcelain and collecting beautiful things.
