Medina Taking Successful Serviced Apartment Formula To The West.

Having established market leadership in Australia�s serviced apartment sector on the East Coast, Medina are taking their successful formula to the West with two spectacular properties to open in Perth in early May 2004.

The $28 million Medina Grand Perth Convention Centre is being planned to be the 5 Star showpiece of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, currently under construction by Multiplex in the heart of the city's CBD.

With 138 luxury apartments extending over five levels, this showpiece property will also offer a large restaurant, along with the now standard Medina facilities of a 15 metre lap-pool, gymnasium, spa and sauna. There will also be undercover security parking for Medina guests & conference delegates.

Apartments will overlook either the landscaped plaza & the Convention/Exhibition Centre or leafy Mounts Bay Road. Some of the upper level rooms will feature views towards the magnificent Swan River.

Interiors will be warm & contemporary yet functional in accordance with Medina�s usual high standards. All apartments will cater to business travelers offering separate working areas with direct internet connection as well as voice mail facilities.

The property�s three meeting rooms will extend over 250m2 and offer fully flexible configurations along with the advantage of natural light and direct access to outside areas. Meeting Rooms will open onto either the landscaped plaza between Medina & the Convention/Exhibition Centre or onto a function room break-out area which connects to the swimming pool.

All meeting rooms are column free with the two largest being connected by an acoustic operable wall, providing flexibility for different sized meetings & room configurations. Approximate capacity is 200 delegates in the two rooms combined.

May 2004 will also see Medina opening a second property, Medina Executive Barrack Plaza, a superb 41/2 Star property to be the focal point at busy Barrack Street, a mixed-use CBD development by Central City Pty Ltd. The property is located in the heart of the booming business & retail area of the City adjacent to Hay Street Shopping Mall & close to the main railway station.

The property will have 100 serviced apartments comprising a mix of seven studio, 77 one bedroom and 16 two bedroom apartments along with a stylish restaurant, pool, gymnasium and meeting rooms. Many apartments have views down Barrack Street towards the Swan Bells & the Swan River. The building incorporates the restored facade of the Historic Railway Hotel yet inside reflects the usual Medina contemporary fit-out with warm & neutral tones.

The 2 meeting rooms will be 52m2 & 41m2 & can be linked together to accommodate up to 100 delegates. Both rooms open out onto a separate break out terrace adjacent to the pool deck.
