Medina Grand Adelaide Treasury has just received a Commendation for Excellence awarded by the City of Adelaide. The Adelaide Prize honours projects that contribute in a positive manner towards the city character.
Medina Grand Adelaide Treasury has also been named in the prestigious Cond� Nast Traveler USA �Hot List� of the Top 80 Best New Hotels in the World! It is the only Australian hotel to be listed in the Urban Hotel category and was one of several hundred new hotels around the world to be visited anonymously by Conde Nast judges. Properties that were chosen cover 35 countries & 6 continents.
Centrally located on Victoria Square in the historic former Treasury Building, Medina Grand Adelaide Treasury brings, a 21st Century luxury apartment hotel vision to a 19th Century heritage building.
Restored at a cost of $20 million, the project to create a five star complex combined original elements of the 164 year old Treasury with modern finishes and amenities, including 80 one and two bedroom serviced apartments and studio rooms.
In recognition of the superb renovation of the building, the hotel has also won the Professional Excellence Award for its builder Multiplex at the Australian Institute of Building Awards (May 2003). Another top honour awarded to Medina Grand Adelaide Treasury apartment hotel is the Award of Merit in the 2003 United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards.
