The picturesque surroundings of Sainte Foy in the French Alps offer the ideal setting for a healthy family holiday or adrenaline fuelled activity break with friends this summer. Luxury holiday provider, Premiere Neige www.premiere-neige.com can arrange for you to have this real-life adventure playground, surrounded by the Vanoise and Grand Paradis nature parks, at your fingertips.
There are lakes and streams within walking distance, while the ski lifts in nearby Les Arcs are adapted for bikes in summer so you can take to the slopes on two wheels. Premiere Neige can also arrange activities to enjoy including summer glacier skiing, mountain biking, white water rafting, canoeing, climbing the Via Ferrata, paragliding, horse riding, swimming, golf, tennis, fishing, 4x4, Quad biking and rock climbing. With new adrenaline sports of hydro-speeding and canyoning which will get your blood racing, also on offer, what more could you ask for.
Sainte Foy is situated on the edge of the magnificent Vanoise National Park which makes it the ideal location for exploring the 70km of footpaths in the area. The vast footpaths will take you through thick forests, historic villages and Alpine meadows and may even lead you face to face with a local ibex, marmotte, mountain goat or chamois. There are some breathtaking walks in the area for all levels including family walks, full or half day excursions, and even hikes of several days staying in mountain huts (in France or Italy which is only 25km away).
If you are passionate about mountain biking then Sainte Foy will be a dream come true. Some of the best downhill tracks and road cycles are on our doorstep which is why the Tour de France is passing through the Tarentaise Valley this summer. If you are keen to come out in July and enjoy the exhilaration of the Tour de France Premiere Neige have the perfect accommodation whether it is for a few friends or a large family of cycling enthusiasts. You can also take full advantage of the sports complex in Tignes with swimming pool, gym and sauna. For more activities in Tignes got to: http://www.tignes.co.uk/summer.htm
For those who didnt get enough skiing in the winter the Grande Motte glacier is open for Summer skiing. La Grande Motte, with its glacier at 3565m altitude, is open during the Summer months like Les Deux Alpes, many ski instructors and professional skiers and snowboarders use the resort as part of their Summer training programme. The snow park which is normally situated in Val Claret is moved onto the glacier, so that snowboarders can jump away to their hearts content. Obviously the glacier is only open in the morning due to the temperature. There is also a great bike park, so you can slide in the mornings and ride in the afternoons. The Tignes Glacier will be open from June 23rd 2nd Sept.
