Media Holding Statement - False Confirmation of Hotel Staff COVID-19 case

Perth, Australia, 12 May 2020 - Contrary to media reports Pan Pacific Perth can confirm that an employed team member has not tested positive for COVID-19.

This morning we were informed that an employee from a West Australian Department of Health contracted service provider has tested positive overnight. The contracted staff member did complete some shifts at the Pan Pacific Perth as well as other locations. The contractor's role was static in nature, had no access to other areas of the hotel and had minimal contact with hotel employees and guests of the hotel. 

The safety and wellbeing of anyone visiting or working in our hotel is at the forefront of all that we do. We have been providing vital support to the West Australian government with quarantine guests arriving from overseas for over a month. We can confirm that our own protocols currently in place relative to hygiene and social distancing are already at the highest levels and those additionally provided by the West Australian Department of Health are rigorously followed.
