WHAT: Mayor Michael A. Nutter addresses 300 high school and adult transitional students within designated hospitality programs throughout the city at MAC's 19th Annual Hospitality Education Day. His appearance reinforces his administration's call for a high school graduation rate of 80 percent by 2015 and supports MAC's hospitality initiatives that highlight the City's third largest industry by providing job and educational opportunities to students.

DETAILS: This free and invitation-only empowerment and opportunity-driven education day, offers encouragement and mentoring to students in designated hospitality programs. Students receive valuable information about exciting opportunities in the industry, insider tips, educational and training options, and initial screenings for internships, scholarships and summer employment. Planned sessions include an interactive Hospitality Showcase and a motivational session with Philly's rising star, DJ Diamond Kuts, the official DJ of rapper Nicki Minaj.

The Philadelphia Multicultural Affairs Congress (MAC), a division of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, was formed in 1987 as the first multicultural division of a Convention & Visitors Bureau in the nation.
