From 15-18 May, Guernsey is holding its third Literary Festival with an A-list line-up of speakers including media personality, Janet Street Porter; poet laureate, Sir Andrew Motion; Prime Suspect writer, Lynda La Plante; novelist, Hilary Boyd and historical writer, Dr Lucy Worsley. Events will mainly take place in an inflatable 'Literary Hub' in the capital St. Peter Port. Ticket prices start from £6 and booking is required at: www.guernseyliteraryfestival.com

Dr Lucy Worsley: A Very British Murder- Dr Lucy Worsley is chief curator at Historic Royal Palaces by day and a writer of history books by night. She has presented a number of history programmes on television including A Very British Murder, which was based on her book of the same name. Talk takes place at St. James' Hall at 2pm on 18 May. Entry is £10.
Lynda La Plante: Meet the Queen of Crime- La Plante has created some of the best-known crime dramas on television, including Trial and Retribution, Above Suspicion and Prime Suspect. The latter starred Helen Mirren as DCI Jane Tennison and aired in the UK and the US. Lynda will talk about her career as a crime writer and her new book at St. James' at 8.30pm on 15 May. Entry is £10.
Janet Street Porter: Larger than Life- Street-Porter is a media personality, journalist and broadcaster and was previously editor-at-large of the Independent On Sunday. She regularly appears on Question Time, Loose Women and Grumpy Old Women. Street-Porter will talk about her career in the public eye at St. James' at 11am on 18 May. Entry is £10.
Ruth Rogers: Inside the (War) Horse's Mouth- Actress Ruth Rogers plays the head of the horse, Joey, in productions of Michael Morpurgo's War Horse at the National Theatre. She will talk about her time as a puppeteer in this play and working with two other actors operating the heart and the hind. Talk is at The Hub at 1pm on 17th May. Entry is £6.
Hilary Boyd: Gran Lit & the Digital Phenomenon- Boyd is a journalist and novelist and has recently released her first novel Thursdays in the Park which was received to rave reviews. Boyd will talk about literature in the digital world at The Hub at 11am on 16 May. Entry is £6.
Time Traveller's Dinner- This futuristically themed dinner will be led by Paul Magrs who has written Doctor Who novels, plays and short stories. The dinner will take place in the OGH Hotel in St. Peter Port on 17 May and will be full of vintage and innovative twists.
