May Festivities In The Tuscan Walled Town Of Castiglion Fiorentino

Vintage Travel

Throughout the month of May, the Italian medieval walled town of Castiglion Fiorentino in eastern Tuscany celebrates its history and heritage with four weeks of events including exhibitions, concerts, sports competitions, festivals as well as various other cultural events and a trade fair.

For those wishing to take in these festivities, specialist operator, Vintage Travel is highlighting Madonna del Bagno – a stunning, renovated classic stone house surrounded by olive groves and situated just 2km from Castiglion Fiorentino.

Enjoying spectacular views over to the medieval town as well as across the Val di Chiana, this 19th century farmhouse sleeps up to eight in four bedrooms – including one with a four poster bed – and features thick stone walls, terracotta tile floors and exposed wooden beams, whilst outside there's a large infinity pool and grounds of lawn and terrace.

There's a special offer for May half-term week – starting 24th – with the week's rental reduced to £1850 (saving £245).  Other May weeks – from 3rd and 10th – are priced at £1395 and seven nights from 17th are £1450.  Return UK flights and car hire are extra, but these can be arranged on request.

For those who don't want to walk into Castiglion Fiorentino, the owners of the house can organize taxis together with traditional Italian meals, served in the property, for a supplement.

In addition, Madonna del Bagno is just 12km from the medieval town of Cortona – with its steep cobbled streets and narrow passageways – where there's an exhibition of important Etruscan artefacts which are on loan from the British Museum and Norfolk's Holkham Hall.
