Marriott International is pleased to announce it has been ranked number five in the list of organisations employing more than 1,000 workers in the '2017 50 Best Places to Work' report, an annual benchmark study of employers across Australia. Undertaken by Great Place to Work Australia, a global research and consulting firm specialising in workplace excellence, the nationally acclaimed study aims to recognise companies with exceptional team culture.
Marriott International scored high in the study for its focus on professional development, mentoring and training, and the company's commitment to recognising and awarding associates' success to help encourage leadership and exceptional service. Marriott International's extensive travel perks, which enable associates to explore the world, also help to create a happy and opened-minded team culture.
This accolade follows Marriott International's success at the 2017 Hotel Management Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence on Friday 1 September, 2017, where the company took home several key awards including:
- 'Business Hotel of the Year' awarded to Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay following the extensive refurbishment of the hotel's food & beverage venues
- 'Best Upper-Upscale Hotel of the Year' awarded to Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection
- 'Asia Pacific Hotelier of the Year' awarded to Craig S. Smith, President and Managing Director Asia Pacific, Marriott International
These accolades come at a time of continued growth for Marriott International in Australia and the Pacific region, where the company operates 26 hotels and has a further 22 in the pipeline. The current pipeline properties will provide more than 2,500 hotel jobs in the region.
