SYDNEY May 2026: Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International's award-winning travel platform and portfolio of over 30 extraordinary hotel brands, is redefining the winter travel experience across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific with the launch of a curated new collection of after-dark experiences designed to inspire travel over winter and shine a light on the joys of winter nights.
Launching in May, the 'Winter After Dark' collection transforms the cooler months into a season of discovery, encouraging guests to embrace longer evenings through immersive, experience-led stays across Marriott Bonvoy's hotels and resorts in the region. From intimate dining under the night sky and private harbourside cinema moments, to wellness rituals and stargazing domes beneath clear southern skies, each experience has been designed to offer something unexpected after dark.
As daylight hours shorten, travellers are invited to see winter differently and make the most of the night through a curated programme of experiences that celebrate the atmosphere, stillness and beauty of winter after sunset.
No matter the destination or style of travel, guests can plan their days as they choose, knowing that each winter evening brings a distinctive experience unique to the property and its surroundings.
Marriott Melbourne Docklands – Rooftop Indulgence
For the first time ever, Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands presents a private after-hours rooftop wellness experience designed to capture the essence of winter nights through warmth, water and skyline views. Guests will have exclusive access to the heated rooftop infinity pool, and sauna after the city winds down. The experience combines restorative wellness elements including a self-guided wind-down ritual, restorative evening elixir, aromatherapy sauna steam and a curated ambient soundscape, alongside a reserved daybed and Hot Toddy service, creating an intimate, multi-sensory escape under the stars.

JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa - Private Dining Under the Stars
Set along the resort's iconic saltwater lagoon, JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa introduces Private Dining Under the Stars, an intimate winter dining experience designed for connection and indulgence. Guests are welcomed into a private, all-weather and beautifully styled dining dome with waterfall views, where the evening begins with a glass of Moët & Chandon and a 30g tin of premium caviar, setting the tone for an indulgent dining journey. Guests will then enjoy a six-course degustation curated menu by Chef Paul Smart from the celebrated chef-hatted restaurant Citirique. Menu highlights include the Chef's signature Moreton Bay Bug Dumplings and Wagyu Steak MB 8-9. Blending personalised service with a striking outdoor setting, the experience offers a memorable winter dining moment for both hotel guests and locals alike.

Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay - Stargazing Escape by the Ocean
Beyond Australia, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay invites guests to explore the night sky through guided constellation tours paired with Fijian storytelling.
Guests can enjoy a guided Stargazing Moment, an intimate after-dark escape set beneath the vast Fijian sky. Hosted within a private glass dome at North Beach, complete with a telescope, the experience offers couples a guided journey through the stars, led by a knowledgeable host who brings constellations and celestial stories to life. As the night unfolds, guests can relax into the moment with sweet treats and the option to elevate the experience further through premium beverage offerings.
Availability: Available year-round, with winter (May to October) offering optimal stargazing conditions. Booking: Reservations required, minimum 24 hours in advance, confirmed four hours prior and subject to weather conditions. Pier One Sydney Harbour – Harbourside Movie Suite
Pier One Sydney Harbour introduces Harbourside Cinema by Pier One, a new winter experience transforming its iconic Sydney Harbour waterfront suite into a private cinema. Set on the terrace of the Sunset Balcony Suite, guests are invited to enjoy a personalised movie screening overlooking Sydney Harbour, with uninterrupted views of the Harbour Bridge, Luna Park and Walsh Bay.
Designed for intimate evenings and special occasions, the experience features a bespoke outdoor cinema set-up complete with a custom love seat, warm blankets pillows and ambient lighting. Guests can select a film ranging from rom-coms and cult classics to adventure favourites, before customising their own frozen yoghurt and popcorn from the Ultimate Movie Night trolley, delivered directly to the suite with a selection of toppings.
A curated Cinema Specials Menu will also be available, allowing guests to order elevated comfort classics and drinks seamlessly throughout the evening.
Run dates: 11 May through to 30 September 2026. Cost: $150 for two people, plus $50pp for any additional guests, in addition to the room rate, inclusive of the full movie night experience. How to book: Available as a package via Harbourside Cinema by Pier One.
W Brisbane - Celestial Wet Deck After Dark
Over winter, W Brisbane will launch a series of moon bathing rituals at WET Deck, inviting guests to unwind beneath the moonlight as it rises over the Brisbane River for an intimate sound healing journey led by Olga from Light Castle. AWAY Spa experts will roam the space offering chakra balancing and pressure point massages to guests, with the evening designed to create a collective sense of relaxation and rejuvenation. Each event will feature an on-site tarot reader offering personalised readings, while guests can sip adaptogen cocktails; non-alcoholic beverages infused with plant-based extracts, inspired by their chosen tarot card. For those unable to attend the full moon evenings, the tarot-inspired adaptogen cocktail menu will remain available at WET Deck throughout winter.

Across Australia, Marriott Bonvoy's portfolio of hotels are embracing Winter After Dark with unique after-dark bar and dining experiences.
- In Adelaide, Exchange Lane Bar at Adelaide Marriott Hotel will host After Light, a refined weekly series celebrating South Australian wines, seasonal cocktails and curated live music, set within a softly lit laneway.
- At The Ritz-Carlton, Perth, Marriott Bonvoy members can enjoy complimentary s'mores served alfresco at Hearth Lounge, bringing a nostalgic fireside touch to winter evenings.
- Aloft Perth will transform its W XYZ Bar into a Japanese-inspired ski lodge, pairing the venue's signature cocktails with thoughtfully matched dishes, inspired by alpine dining culture.
- At The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne, guests are invited to dine among the stars on Level 80 at Atria, where a late-night winter indulgence features artisanal cheeses served tableside with honeycomb and house-made preserves complete with skyline views over the city and coast.
- Meanwhile, Le Méridien Melbourne reveals a hidden nightlife gem with live jazz dinner shows at DOLLY, offering a stylish, atmospheric dining and entertainment experience beneath the city.
- In Sydney, Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park partners with The Magic Table to present an immersive fusion of theatre, fine dining and illusion, where an intimate, story-led five-course menu unfolds through captivating tableside performances.
- After a day exploring Tasmania's cool-climate wonders, settle into a fireside moment at Mary Mary, for an after-dark ritual designed to warm your spirits for the evening. Stay two or more nights during the “Tasmanian Off Season” and enjoy The Nightcap Ritual: a complimentary hot, boozy dessert crafted with Tasmanian ingredients served in Mary Mary.
