Marriott Australia has been named the Best Employer in Australia & New Zealand by Aon Hewitt’s Best Employers study - the largest employee research project and market practice audit in the region.
Crowned “Best of the Best”, Marriott Australia outperformed 19 accredited companies in the study that included data from a survey of over 100,000 employees from 125 organisations. Marriott’s victory marks the first time that a hospitality company has been awarded this honour.
The study found that a staggering91% of Marriott Australia Associates responded that given the opportunity, they tell others about the great things associated with working for the company. Compared to other High Performing Best Employers, Marriott Associates are 14% less likely to leave the organization and 14% more likely to believe that their organization motivates them to contribute more than what is normally required to complete their work. In overall engagement, all companies scoring above 65% were accepted into the High Performance category but Marriott boated an impressive overall score of 88%.
Neeraj Chadha, Multi Property Vice President, Australia – Marriott International, has said “At Marriott International our Associates are one of our greatest assets. Our commitment to our Associates hails from the values established by our company’s founders, which have served us well and will continue to guide our growth into the future. Put simply – We put people first!”
“All employers are confronted by the same set of economic circumstances, but our Best Employers are able to do a substantially better job of leading and managing the workforce to create high levels of engagement. This mitigates many of the economic issues they face – leading to better results,” said Stephen Hickey, Employee Engagement Lead at Aon Hewitt.
The report is the latest in the headland people performance research series that's been run since 2001.
