JERSEY HOSTS MYRIAD 2022 SPORTING EVENTS
Jersey will leave active travellers breathless as it combines sporting events with breathtaking scenery and a dash of European flair in a year that hosts a number of sporting events.
The Channel Island is welcoming sports enthusiasts and fitness fans looking for a new competitive environment. As online searches for terms such as 'active holidays' continue to rise, Jersey has a long list of exciting sporting events taking place; from walking, running, surfing, and cycling.

JERSEY'S 2022 SPORTING EVENTS
True Grit
The True Grit Wetwheels Challenge is a 4.3km running race with a difference. The challenging course is set in a unique and spectacular location, taking runners on an adventure through the Ronez Quarry whilst navigating around the gigantic machinery on Jersey's rugged cliffside north coast. Set in one of Jersey's most remarkable environments, runners will start their race at the top of the quarry, then make their way 28 metres below sea level to the pit before starting the climb back out.

The Durrell Challenge is a test of uphill endurance that takes runners on a scenic 13km / 8-mile road from St. Helier to the finishing line at the Durrell Wildlife Conservation. Durrell Challenge runners raise funds to support the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which undertakes vital work protecting some of the most threatened wildlife on the planet.

Island Walk 2022
Slower the pace on this stunning but tough 48.1-mile island walk. The route traverses Jersey's beautiful and varied coastline of sandy beaches and dramatic cliffs combined with magnificent, lush countryside. This is an iconic event in Jersey's active calendar and raises money for local charities. The Main Walk departs at 3am; alternatively, for those who need a shorter option, the Lieutenant Governor's Challenge is a 13-mile challenge that departs at 10am.

The most southernly triathlon in the British Isles, the Accuro Jersey Triathlon provides four different race formats all on set against the beautiful backdrop of Jersey's natural surroundings. Explore the west of the island on two wheels in the Standard and Jersey Sprint courses; or speed up in the shorter Super Sprint and Junior courses, all swimming and running in St. Helier.

Good Vibrations Surf Festival
After a two-year hiatus, Good Vibration all-day 80's themed surf festival is back – and this year will be hosting the Channel Island Surf Championships. The free event, hosted in aid of Mind Jersey, encourages attendees to dig out some retro 'fits and head down to the Watersplash Jersey for a day of sunshine, music and good vibes. Activities on the day include Surf Competitions, Beach 5-a-side football, volleyball, workshops and much more.

Round the Rock is an unforgettable gem of a race offering solo, relay, marathon, and half marathon options. Whilst the island itself is only 9 miles by 5, the route is 48 miles and hugs the coast of Jersey in an anti-clockwise direction from its starting point in St. Helier on the south. Participants are in for a treat with views of the stunning granite cliffs of the north coast and the golden sands of St. Ouen's Bay.

Experience the glory of a triathlete – Super League Triathlon Jersey is an intense race that has it all. Jersey is a firm favourite on the Super League calendar, with many of the athletes describing it as their favourite race location in the world. Stunning views from its coastal base at St. Helier; drama of pulse-raising action, and incredible crowd support around the course. Visitors can gear up in the Age Group Races, designed to inspire all ages from 15 to 90 years.

The Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon is 'a small race, with a very big atmosphere' and welcomes runners of all ages and abilities. The spectacular course climbs up to the northwest of the island and circles back to St. Helier, allowing runners to view iconic landmarks such as Elizabeth Castle and La Corbière Lighthouse, offering a mix of culture and breathtaking ocean views. As a firm fixture in islanders' calendars, and with over 50 percent of participants coming from off the island, all runners can expect huge support around the entire route.
