P&O Australian Resorts

Mark Campbell, Managing Director, P&O Australian Resorts (POAR), has announced changes to the management of several properties owned and operated by the company, effective immediately.

Following the resignation of Robyn Pontynen, General Manager of Lizard Island for seven years, Steve Anstey will transfer from his current position of General Manager Silky Oaks Lodge & Healing Waters Spa to take up the role as Resort General Manager at Lizard Island.

Robyn Pontynen leaves the P&O Australian Resorts portfolio to take up a position with the Orient Express group at Lilianfels in the Blue Mountains.

Anstey, who joined the POAR group in 1994, recently oversaw the $2million refurbishment of Silky Oaks Lodge that included the upgrading of the Treehouse accommodations and the creation of the superb Healing Waters Spa. The new Silky Oaks Lodge & Healing Waters Spa was officially opened on 14 September this year.

Shane McNally will transfer from his current role as Resort General Manager of Bedarra Island to take up the position of Resort General Manager at Silky Oaks Lodge & Healing Waters Spa. McNally started his career with POAR in 1994 in the role of Assistant Manager at Silky Oaks Lodge. After taking time out to travel, he returned to the company in 1998 as Assistant Manager at Dunk Island. The following year he was appointed Resort General Manager at Bedarra Island.

Caroline Henry will become Resort General Manager of Bedarra Island. Prior to her appointment, Caroline and David Henry were joint Resort General Managers of Dunk Island. David Henry will now become sole Resort General Manager at Dunk Island. David and Caroline have held numerous management positions both independently and as a team in high profile locations.

Jason Kruse has been appointed Assistant Resort Manager at Dunk Island. He held a similar role at Brampton Island over the past year.

P&O Australian Resorts is pleased to be able to provide our staff with opportunities for career development, Mark Campbell said. Our Resort Managers are exceptional, each has a well developed sense of service culture, strong guest focus and attention to detail. Our GMs relish their new roles and the opportunities they bring.
