MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif., (Dec. 5, 2012) – Mono County and Mammoth Lakes Tourism are thrilled to announce that California's Eastern Sierra made the exclusive Top U.S. Destinations for 2013 List by the preeminent travel publisher Lonely Planet. Several of Mono County's most enticing attractions are highlighted including the fascinating ghost town at Bodie State Historic Park, the popular fishing destination of Bridgeport, the remarkable Devils Postpile National Monument and the oasis of Mono Lake which serves as a vital habitat for millions of birds—all noted as not-to-miss by visitors to the Eastern Sierra.
