Mallorca's Michelin Chefs Come Together for 'The Grand Gourmet Award 2015' at Castell Son Claret

April 2015 – The hotly anticipated Grand Gourmet Award returns on 14th June 2015 in the luxurious surroundings of Castell Son Claret.

This unique gourmet experience brings together eight star chefs for an evening of inspired cuisine with the accent on fresh local produce and the imaginative pairing of food and wine in one gala dinner.

The annual gastronomic celebration combines the creativity of Bartomeu Caldentey (Restaurant Es Molí d'en Bou), Macarena de Castro (Restaurant Jardín), Marc Fosh (Restaurant Simply Fosh), Andreu Genestra (Restaurant Andreu Genestra), Rafael Sánchez (Restaurant Es Fum), Santi Taura (Restaurant Santi Taura) as well as host Fernando Pérez Arellano and the team of his Michelin restaurant Zaranda. 

Special guest chef, the two-Michelin star Thomas Martin from Hamburg (Jacobs Restaurant) will also join the talented group.  Each chef will prepare one delicious dish, using regional products of the island

Live music and entertainment will further enhance the ambiance of evening.

The evening includes:

  • Champagne with a choice of delicacies
  • Gala menu with pairing wines
  • Entertainment programme with live music
  • Award ceremony for Mallorca's best chef

Castell Son Claret

Castell Son Claret opened in May 2013 after an intense restoration project under the instruction of the property's owners, Klaus-Michael and Christine Kühne. Chef Fernando Perez Arellano

Winner of numerous awards, including 'Newcomer of the Year' and 'Chef of the Year' are a restament to the passion of Chef Fernando and his creative team, which includes British born Claire Hutchings, runner up in Masterchef 2013.  When Castell Son Claret opened in May 2013, Zaranda, which gained its Michelin start in 2006, found a new home has delighted its guests ever since. The Restaurant's Michelin star was reconfirmed in November 2013 and 2014.
