Top US Visitor Attraction To Celebrate 25th Anniversary at the Leading Event for Travel Journalists

Mall of America, the largest shopping and entertainment complex in North America, is today announced as sponsor of IMM's post-event Drinks Reception.

The Mall, a long-term international partner of IMM organiser TravMedia, will host delegates as TravMedia's flagship industry event (13 March 2017, London's QEII Centre), draws to a fanfare finale, following a day of meetings for an anticipated 400 media and PR delegates.

The major visitor attraction (www.mallofamerica.com) celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2017. The Mall annually draws over 40 million visitors from around the world, with over one billion people having visited MOA since it opened on Aug. 11, 1992.

Located in Bloomington, Minnesota, next to MSP International Airport, the Mall features 520 stores (with no sales tax on clothing or shoes), leading family attractions, restaurants, 400 annual events, and on-site hotels.

Said Doug Killian, Mall of America's senior director international tourism: “TravMedia has been a valuable partner for the Mall as it communicates how it attracts more than 40 million visitors annually from throughout the world. We're delighted to be a sponsor at IMM.”   

Killian is responsible for the Mall's international marketing and public relations activities and will attend IMM.  He joined Mall of America in 2001 after having served Northwest Airlines in corporate communications, including four years based in Tokyo, Japan.

Brand USA was recently announced once again as IMM's headline sponsor and will address delegates at the lunch reception. CityPASS is again the event's refreshments sponsor.

TravMedia has announced that a record 159 brands are taking stands, while well over 300 journalists are registered to attend.

New IMM exhibitors include tourist boards such as Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, Croatian National Tourist Board, Isles of Scilly, Cook Islands Tourism Corporation, Italian National Tourist Board and Dubai Tourism. Meetings Manager, TravMedia's appointment-bookings platform for IMM, which generated almost 5000 15-minute meeting bookings in 2016, is now live, and will close on Wednesday 8 March at 6pm to allow delegate schedules to be prepared.
