Malaysia Airlines has been recognised once again for its exceptional wine selection at the 2026 Cellars in the Sky Awards by Business Traveller, securing seven prestigious medals across multiple categories. The airline received two Gold awards for its Business Class Lounge Wine Cellar and Business Class Lounge Red Wine (Château Larteau, Bordeaux Supérieur 2022).

Offering a refined premium lounge experience, Malaysia Airlines' Golden Lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) allows travellers to relax and dine in style. Among the Gold-winning selections was Château Larteau Bordeaux Supérieur 2022. Founded in 1776 and located on the right bank of the Dordogne River in France, Château Larteau has been producing wine on the same land for generations. Their elegant Gold-winning Château Larteau Bordeaux Supérieur 2022 is recognised for its deep colour, as well as its rich, complex, and rounded flavour. The Cellars in the Sky judging panel gave the wine a score of 93.0, highlighting its complex sophistication, savoury quality and notes of black fruits.

All wines were tasted blind by an independent panel of internationally recognised wine experts. Judges assessed each entry on its own merits, evaluating appearance, aroma, flavour profile, balance, complexity, length and overall quality.

The judging panel included Charles Metcalfe, Sam Caporn MW, Peter McCombie MW and John Worontschak, supported by host and industry consultant Kelly Stevenson. Each wine was evaluated without reference to the airline, producer, price point or brand, ensuring complete impartiality throughout the judging process.

These accolades reflect Malaysia Airlines' commitment to enhancing the customer experience through excellence in service, product innovation, and hospitality, reinforcing its dedication to delivering memorable journeys at every touchpoint.
