For adults, a giant 800-pound LED beach ball descends 100 feet during the New Year’s countdown at midnight. A second fireworks show keeps the light display continuing. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 1:00 a.m., allowing ample time to stroll Pier Park’s eclectic mix of local shops and restaurants and popular national chains. Destin’s 6th Annual Harbor Ball Drop

A little further west, Destin hosts its own New Year’s Eve celebration at the HarborWalk Village. Located in the heart of Destin, this festive street party features live music, ball drop at midnight over the Destin Harbor, and a spectacular choreographed fireworks show.
