Cox & Kings launches its Middle East programme for 2017 with a focus on Iran, Israel and Morocco

Cox & Kings has launched its new Middle East brochure for 2017, featuring a comprehensive programme of escorted group tours and private tailor-made travel to the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and the Gulf, including a new Royal Academy of Arts expert-led group tour to Iran and a new riad-based group tour to Morocco.

Cox & Kings' Middle East product manager Michael Fleetwood says “During a turbulent time for the Middle East, our clients are still travelling in good numbers with Iran being especially popular – proving that there is still interest in the impressive sights of the region.”

IRAN: Due to a surge in demand for Iran, Cox & Kings has launched Iran: Persian Palaces & Gardens, run in conjunction with the Royal Academy of Arts. This 15 day / 13 night group tour focuses in particular on the art and architecture of the region, explored with an expert lecturer as well as a local tour manager. Highlights include the Persian palaces at Persepolis and Pasargardae, the Zoroastrian fire temples and Isfahan, as well as off-the-beaten-track areas like Kerman, Rayen and Mahan. Prices are from £4,495 per person including flights with British Airways, with two departures for 2017.

Cox & Kings' other group tour Treasures of Persia will also be using the direct British Airways flights to Tehran launching in September 2016, meaning getting into Iran is easier than ever. Priced from £2,495 the 11 day / 10 night tour includes the unmissable highlights of Iran with ten departures in 2017 to choose from.

Also in the brochure is the Heart of Persia aboard the Golden Eagle, a 14 day / 13 night luxury train journey that whisks travellers through the sites of Iran – perfect for those who want to see the country in opulent style.  Prices are from £10,795 per person not including flights.

MOROCCO: Cox & Kings has expanded its luxury offering in Morocco to include a boutique group tour. Riads, Souks & Kasbahs is an 8 day / 7 night tour priced from £1,015 per person, staying in riads or boutique hotels throughout and with a maximum group size of 14. Other highlights include the sights of Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat and Fez, as well as the town of Meknes – once known as the 'Moroccan Versailles'.

Four new private journeys have also been introduced, ranging in areas from Casablanca to Ouarzazote with prices beginning from £845 per person.

ISRAEL AND THE OPT: The 6 day / 5 night Journey to Jerusalem tour is perhaps the most luxurious Israel group tour on the market for 2017. Priced from £1,975 per person, clients stay in 5-star accommodation throughout and visit the remarkable historic sites in Galilee, Nazareth, Bethlehem, Jaffa and Jerusalem.

All prices include international flights, transfers, excursions and accommodation with breakfast daily unless specified otherwise.

Cox & Kings is the world's longest established travel company. Its history stretches back more than 250 years to 1758 when Richard Cox was appointed regimental agent to the Footguards (later the Grenadier Guards). The company's fortunes grew hand in hand with the British empire and by the early 20th century the company was acting as agent and banker throughout the armed forces and as a shipping agent. In 1922 Cox & Co merged with the Henry S King bank, which had strong connections with India. The bank became part of Lloyds and the shipping agency grew separately, evolving into the modern travel company.

Today, built on the high quality service and attention to detail established by Richard Cox in the 18th century, the company continues to flourish as an independent tour operator, with operations in London, the US, Japan, Australia and throughout India. Cox & Kings organises escorted small-group tours and private tailor-made travel in the Indian Subcontinent, Latin America, the Middle East, the Far East, Africa, Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, and the Caribbean.
