MACq 01 TURNS ONE

Today st June 2018> marks one year since Tasmania's storytelling hotel first opened its doors to the world and what a year it's been. With global media attention and a range of awards, the MACq 01 team have been left little time to catch their breath.

The hotel marked its anniversary earlier this week by taking out the Gourmet Traveller Australian Hotel Awards 2018, recognised as Australia's Best Large Hotel and for having the Best Minibar.

These two prestigious awards form part of an impressive list of first-year accolades for MACq 01, including State and National tourism awards in the category of New Tourism Product, a Destination Southern Tasmania Southern Star for Brand Excellence and still maintaining the no.1 spot on TripAdvisor for Hobart Hotels, which they attained just five weeks after launch.

Locals are invited to a birthday celebration at MACq 01 tonight st June 2018> where live music, birthday cocktails, storytelling and cake will be on offer to guests in The Story Bar, Old Wharf Restaurant and the lounge.

“We're a bit overwhelmed to be honest”, said General Manager Jake Smith. “It's just been an enormous year for us and we have the local community to thank in large part. We're looking forward to celebrating with them on Friday”.
