Autumn is a wonderful time to experience the vibrant destination of Macau with many unique festivals and sporting events taking place plus typically great weather!  A taste of Macau is even coming to London this season.....

NEWS

A TASTE OF MACAU IN LONDON - 17-29 NOVEMBER:

Londoners will have a chance to discover the culinary delights of Macau with the introduction of a Macanese tasting menu at A.Wong in London Victoria.  Restaurant owner and head chef Andrew Wong has collaborated with Florita Alves, a specialist in Macanese cuisine from Macau, to create a beautifully crafted eight course tasting menu featuring his interpretation of some of Macau's most famous dishes.  Priced at £45 per person, dishes on the menu include the delicious African Chicken (roasted and spiced chicken), Tacho chau chau pele (a meat and vegetable casserole with Chinese sausage) and pasteis de nata (Portuguese style egg custard tarts).  One of the world's first fusion foods, Macanese cuisine reflects the unique history of this exciting gastronomic destination blending Portuguese and Chinese flavours and drawing on influences from South America, Africa, India and Malaysia.  The Macanese tasting menu is available from 17-29 November 2014 at A. NEW E-NEWSLETTER 'MACAU TRAVEL TALK' LAUNCHED &AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD

MGTO has launched a brand new electronic version of 'Macau Travel Talk' to provide the latest destination news, highlights and updates to those in the travel industry.  Originally a bi-monthly publication, 'Macau Travel Talk' will now be available to download from MGTO's website or to receive on a monthly basis through subscribing at http://mtt.macautourism.gov.mo. The e-newsletter will come in a new and innovative format making it simple to read and offering a greater diversity of information under the headings 'Macau Travel News', 'Upcoming Events & Festivals' and 'Important Event & Partner News'.

FESTIVALS

There are a number of exciting events and festivals taking place in Macau over the next couple of months - everything from major annual sporting events to cultural festivals unique to the destination:

MACAU FOOD FESTIVAL - 7-23 NOVEMBER

The Macau Food Festival, featuring food from around the world, is held for 17 consecutive days in Sai Van Lake Square. The festival combines delicious Asian, European and Macanese delicacies with exciting entertainment and fun for everyone. There is lots of choice for budding gourmands with tastes from around the world all on offer in one place, together with live musical performances, games booths, beer competitions, fireworks displays and children's rides for youngsters.

61st MACAU GRAND PRIX - 13-16 NOVEMBER

Entering its seventh decade in 2014, the 61st Macau Grand Prix is one of the biggest events of the year and a favourite of motor sports fans. The world-class event, hosted by Macau since 1953, represents the climax of the Formula 3 calendar. Famous past winners include Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard. During the official days of the Grand Prix, the city buzzes with excitement as both car and motorcycles races compete on one of the most challenging street circuits in the world.

MACAU CITY FRINGE FESTIVAL - 1-16 NOVEMBER

One of Macau's largest arts festivals, the Macau City Fringe Festival sees performances take place in a number of iconic locations throughout Macau including the Ruins of St Paul's, Senado Square, Old Court Buildings and the Taipa Houses Museum.  Expect to see dance, story-telling, mime and puppetry, from performance companies from both Macau as well as across the globe. http://www.macaufringe.gov.mo
