P&O Australian Resorts has become the largest spa operator in Australia completing a development program that has seen a further investment of $6million. Late last year saw the expansion and renaming of Lizard Island�s spa - now the Azure Spa - the complete refurbishment of Silky Oaks� Healing Waters Spa; major redevelopment of Dunk Island�s Spa of Peace & Plenty; and the creation of a brand new spa right on the Great Barrier Reef with the opening of the Aqua Soul Spa at Heron Island.

Created as the Pavilion Spa during Lizard Island�s multi-million make-over in 2000, a new range of signature therapies has been developed for Lizard Island�s newly-expanded and renamed Azure Spa.

The addition of a vichy shower, a double-massage room and a steam-room allows guests to enjoy an assortment of new relaxation and therapeutic treatments and also provides a space where partners or friends can enjoy treatments together. The new marine-inspired spa menu provides guests with a tempting range of scrubs, wraps, facials, body treatments and massage therapies.

Following its recent expansion, the Healing Waters Spa at Silky Oaks Lodge is now even more spectacular. Refurbishments have seen a new wing added to the existing building with the original facility reconfigured to create a sleek new interior. The new Spa features an indoor/outdoor relaxation area that ensures guests enjoy the rainforest environment before, during and after treatments.

The extended Healing Waters Spa offers additional treatment rooms including two single massage rooms, a vichy room and a dramatic signature treatment space, which opens out to a deck and glorious rainforest and river views. Inside, treatment rooms exude calmness. A tranquil tone is created with the use of stone, water and wood and a colour palate of gentle moss greens. Design elements focus on a use of textured natural fabrics and, in key sites selected to protect privacy, glass panels invite the rainforest indoors, adding to the serene and spiritual ambience. A new treatment menu has also been developed with Sodashi products (based on Australian botanicals) joining the indigenous-inspired Li�tya range.

At Dunk Island the Spa of Peace & Plenty has more than doubled in size. Stunning gardens with cascading streams and a large reflection pond are some of the tropical design elements featured in the newly-expanded Spa. Two new vichy treatment rooms, a steam room and a double-sized signature treatment room with an oversized tub along with a new treatment program make it is hard to resist the Spa�s invitation to �Indulge, Transcend & Rejuvenate�. At Heron Island the new Aqua Soul Spa is set to become a favourite amongst spa enthusiasts. With treatments inspired by Heron�s spectacular Great Barrier Reef location, Aqua Soul offers three single massage rooms, one double therapy room and a private steam room. A double vichy room is another feature, where partners or friends can enjoy treatments together.

Silky Oaks Lodge: 3-night Romantic Moments package including a Healing Waters Spa treatment to the value of $100 per person, tropical breakfast and 4-course dinner daily as well as chilled premium sparkling wine on arrival and selected Lodge activities from $1,020 per person twin share. Dunk Island: 3-night Romantic Moments packages including a Spa of Peace & Plenty voucher to the value of $100 for each person, full buffet breakfast and table de hote or themed buffet dinner daily and chilled Australian sparkling wine on arrival. Heron Island: 3-night Romantic Moments packages start from $1050 including Aqua Soul Spa voucher to the value of $100 per person, a bottle of chilled Australian Sparkling wine on arrival and accommodation in Heron Beachside Suite. Package includes full buffet breakfast daily, smorgasbord lunch, Saturday night seafood buffet, set four-course or buffet dinner daily and selected Island activities.

Lizard Island: 5night Romantic Moments package including Azure Spa voucher to the value of $150 per person is $3,990 per person twin share. Package includes Anchor Bay Suite or Sunset Point Villa accommodation, a bottle of premium sparkling wine and fruit basket on arrival, full breakfast, lunch and dinner with change of menu daily and selected activities.
