Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards 2012

On Monday night chefs, providores, journalists and restaurant reviewers celebrated the 2012 SMH Good Food Guide Awards where Joanna Savill and Terry Durack, as well as their private army of reviewers announced the best places to eat, drink and be noticed!

Along with the top dining destinations being awarded hats, came one very special award, The Vittoria Legend Award that this year went to LYNDEY MILAN. This is the first time a food communicator has won this award. As Lyndey is overseas with filming commitments, close friend, Rick Stein accepted the award in her honour. "Ever since I first met Lyndey Milan in the mid 80s, I've been conscious of someone quite specially big hearted; someone who always makes me feel that food and drink in Australia is the best anywhere. Her enthusiasm, and tireless promotion of the food industry make her an obvious winner of the Vittoria Legend Award". Rick Stein

Telstra Business Women's Awards - Lyndey named as a finalist

After a heartbreaking year, Lyndey is honored to be a state finalist in the Hudson Private and Corporate Sector Award category of the Telstra Business Women's Awards.

Lyndey was nominated by TAFE Sydney Institute on behalf of Tasting Success, the female chef mentoring program of which is she patron and co-founder.

"Lyndey is an amazing woman. Using influence and passion she highlights a cause and makes a difference. She will be an impressive Ambassador and role model for the Awards." David Riordan, Director, TAFE NSW Sydney Institute

To Lyndey, this award is an opportunity to consolidate and utilise her network and to positively influence women's lives, as she has done throughout her career. "My mum said: 'It's not what happens to you in life but how you deal with it that's important.' Therefore, I have always believed we're responsible for our own destiny."

The NSW state luncheon will be held on Friday 30th September.

The 2011 Telstra Australian Business Women's Awards National Gala Dinner will be held in Melbourne on Friday 18 November 2011.

Here's a sneak peek into Episode 1!

Waterford and the South East: Where better to start the adventure than in Ireland's oldest city of Waterford? Rife with historic significance, Waterford is not only home to fabulous crystal, but delicious national foods including cream crackers and 'rashers'. Lyndey spends a couple of hours at the Waterford Harvest Festival, meeting quirky local characters and sampling the produce. The next day, her decision to forgo breakfast in order to help Joe Prendagast at Barron's Bakery with the daily batch of bread is handsomely rewarded with a traditional full Irish breakfast, resplendent with Irish specialities, the Blaa and the rasher. On to Dungarvan, Lyndey meets Paul Flynn, one of Ireland's most celebrated chefs at his restaurant, The Tannery.
