Imperial Springs, China

Destinology (Tel 01204 821 047), the experts in luxury travel, have introduced a new two-centre itinerary to China which complements the serenity of newly opened Imperial Springs in the Guangdong province with the city vibrancy of Hong Kong.

This 10-day itinerary is an exciting holiday of two distinct Asian halves. It kicks off in Hong Kong, one of the world's most exciting, modern cities with five-star accommodation at the chic and contemporary Upper House.

In contrast, the final five days provide the chance to unwind and rewind, and to take a step back in time, to a period when the Tang Dynasty ruled China. This is the place to let the healing calmness of Imperial Springs take effect.

And, linking these two locations is the verdant beauty of the island of Lantau.

This 10-night itinerary, priced £2,779 per person, includes:

  • Flights with Emirates: Gatwick to Hong Kong, Guangzhou to Gatwick
  • Five-nights accommodation on a b&b basis at Imperial Springs
  • Five-nights accommodation on a b&b basis at Upper House
  • A full day tour to Lantau Island
  • One hour Chinese massage for two people
  • Return airport/hotel transfers

ABOUT IMPERIAL SPRINGS, GUANGZHOU

Imperial Springs sits in the foothills of the Conghua's Pheonix Mountains, an area famed for its clean air, verdant beauty and rejuvenating hot springs. Located on its own private estate, larger in size than Monaco, this is a location that people have been coming to for centuries for their health. Imperial Springs is maintaining this tradition with its excellent spa facilities and outdoor hot springs.

Accommodation, in the form of suites and villas, has been designed in the imperial style of the Tang Dynasty with each villa boasting its own outdoor pool and 24 hour butler service.

Dining plays a big part in the Imperial Springs experience with an impressive choice of restaurants featuring not only Chinese specialities, but also European cuisine.

Additionally there is a 27-hole championship golf course designed by Colin Montgomerie, and a world class private museum offering a unique insight into Chinese art, history and culture without the queues and crowds.

ABOUT UPPER HOUSE, HONG KONG

Upper House is located in the city's business district and is convenient for shopping, restaurants and other attractions. It was designed by Andre Fu, one of the most sought after young designers in Asia Pacific.

Fu's intent was to create a small luxury hotel reminiscent of a private residence.

The design therefore is uncluttered and contemporary with a spa-inspired bathroom featuring a walk-in rain shower and deep limestone clad bathtub overlooking Hong Kong's skyline.

The dining is exceptional, as you would expect from hotel chef, Gary Kunz who enjoyed acclaim in New York and has experience leading the finest kitchens in Europe, Asia and America.

ABOUT LANTAU ISLAND

Almost double the size of Hong Kong Island, Lantau is renowned for its unspoilt countryside, virgin hills and lush green valleys.  Highlights includes:

  • Tsing Ma Bridge, an engineering marvel known as the longest road/rail suspension bridge in the world
  • Ngong Ping Cable Car, a stunning 22-mins,  5.7kms ride offering breathtaking panoramic views of the South China Sea, the lush surrounding  mountains and the awe-inspiring Giant Buddha statue, the world's tallest outdoor, seated bronze statue.
  • Po Lin Monastery famed for its exceptional Buddhist vegetarian cuisine.
