The Vivat Trust's Hadlow Tower was recently announced as winner of the English Heritage Angel Awards 2013 for Best Craftsmanship Employed on a Heritage Rescue and the Favourite as Voted for by English Heritage Members and Telegraph Subscribers. Added to this accolade, the Georgian Group have just given Hadlow Tower a commendation in the category of Best Restoration of a Country House, in their 2013 Architectural Awards.
Vivat Trust Director, Laura Norris, says: "We were so proud to have been nominated for these awards, but to actually win is amazing. We are all thrilled and would like to thank everyone who supported us throughout the project and all those who voted for us". Most importantly it's another building that is now off the at-risk register. "
The restoration of Hadlow Tower- the Grade I listed gothic revival folly in Kent- was completed in April and heralded the culmination of a £4.2 million preservation project and over thirteen years of efforts to save this historic building.
This historic landmark now offers luxury holiday accommodation for six and joins the Vivat Trust's portfolio of historic holiday properties.
Accommodation starts on the first floor of the tower and includes a kitchen and octagonal dining room, a sitting room with wood burning stove, a twin bedroom and separate bathroom, and a double height master bedroom with a bed ringed in by columns and a bathroom suspended above on an inserted floor. A lift suitable for wheelchair users offers access to the first three floors, including direct access to a double bedroom and wet room.
Winter midweek breaks start from £580 for 3 nights.
Price includes all fuel (including wood/kindling for the wood-burning stove), welcome hamper including wine, all linen/towels and mini toiletries.
