Luxury and Romance Bid Welcome in SouthWest Germany

SouthWest Germany

In SouthWest Germany, luxury and romance are an inseparable part of your stay. This part of Germany values well-made food, sustainability, hand-crafted goods and beautiful design and integrating these into their products. There are many five star hotels and even more Michelin-starred restaurants that are reasonably priced and accessible from Stuttgart and Konstanz. Heidelberg is for lovers with its special package and padlock and many of the hotels are holding Valentine getaway specials throughout the state. All luxury hotels have a sophisticated spa experience for guests including massages and special treatments, which can be delightful in and of themselves but especially appealing after a day of shopping and sightseeing or walking along the shores of Lake Constance and in the Black Forest. The entire region is easily accessible from Stuttgart Airport via Frankfurt or direct from Atlanta and from everywhere by train.

Heidelberg Is Happening, Valentine!

Yes, there is no doubt about it, the medieval city of Heidelberg is happening and you and yours can be part of it. Only one hour from the Frankfurt international airport by direct train, the streets of this old university town are bustling with visitors and students, the restaurants and pubs are lively, and the atmosphere is friendly and engaging. The streetscapes are reason alone to travel to this romantic city with its glorious castle overlooking the city on river below. Yet lovers who venture forth on the castle ramparts will be awarded a love padlock as a sign of their devotion. Wonderful history of battles, student duels, contemporary city developments, museums and fabulous theater and festivals along with excellent German food create a trip that is worth remembering. Valentine's Day is a special celebration as the city honors those who celebrate February 14 with the unusual present but also couples can buy packages including a city tour and a three course meal along with great hotel rates and a Heidelberg card that includes all public transportation and discounted museum and event prices.

Der Europäische Hof Heidelberg Celebrates 150 Years of Famous Guests

One of the most elegant hotels in Europe, and for many the central social nexus of Heidelberg, is celebrating 150 years of continuing hospitality this year. A long list of notables and a who's who over the years at Der Europäische Hof Heidelberg include heads of state and politicians, such as Winston Churchill and Richard Nixon; members of the European aristocracy; scientists and writers, including Mario Vargas Llosa and Ericka Jong; the astronaut Neil Armstrong; actors John Cleese and Rock Hudson; singers Phil Collins and Janet Jackson and tennis stars Andre Agassi, Boris Becker and Steffi Graff among many other well-known stars. The elegance and central location of Heidelberg's grande dame hotel are a perfect choice especially in this anniversary year. A sophisticated spa with five medical experts along with a pool and sundeck set this Heidelberg hotel even further apart from other five star residences in Europe. The hotel's famous restaurant, the Kurfürstenstube, has a history of its own being founded just after the opening of the hotel and the food is matched by the stunning decor.

Stuttgart Airport - Your Gateway to SouthWest Germany

Stuttgart Airport is the gateway to one of the most multifaceted regions in Europe and aims to make the stay of every passenger as pleasant as possible. VIP packages, including luggage-carrying service, escort through the security check, lounge visit and transport by VIP limousine to the aircraft allow travelers to feel like they are celebrities. An excellent infrastructure consisting of direct access to the motorway and to public transportation, a variety of high-class fashion stores, duty free shopping facilities and eateries create a pleasant and stress-relieved journey. As a special highlight Stuttgart is the only airport in Germany with a Michelin star awarded restaurant - called "Top Air." The airport welcomes daily flights from Atlanta to Stuttgart provided by Delta Airlines.

Off the Grid: Sustainability, Design and Two Michelin Stars - the Hotel Riva on Lake Constance

One of the most special places on earth is certainly the Lake Constance region with the beautiful lake surrounded on three sides by Germany, Austria and Switzerland. On the south shore of this southernmost point in Germany with the snow-clad Alps in the background stands Hotel Riva. Contemporary in design with warm, breezy and subdued colors, the hotel appeals to a young and hip traveler but also those with children who enjoy the access to the water and the town. Konstanz is an off-the-radar gem with great shopping, charming architecture and houses and food. It has a cosmopolitan atmosphere and chique shopping but is also low-key for casual attire. Two restaurants at the Riva are highly acclaimed with the star being Ophelia, a two Michelin-starred restaurant, overlooking the lake.
