Roman Camp Country House Hotel, a charming historic hotel at the heart of Scotlands Rob Roy Country, has made a splash among Scotlands pool of luxury hotels with its sumptuous new bathrooms. A six-figure upgrade will also see the rooms equipped with satellite TV and broadband, and renovation work of the original greenhouses, the rebuilding of the listed walled garden and the planting of an assortment of fruit trees. Set among the stunning scenery of the Trossachs, Roman Camp attracts visitors from around the globe, many of whom return year after year, drawn by the seductive magnetism of this unique hotel. Proprietors Eric and Marion Brown have invested in this major refurbishment at Roman Camp, which originates back to the 15th Century, in order to offer their discerning clientele an enhanced luxury experience in a traditional Highland retreat.
Proprietor Eric Brown commented, Our guests like to come here to escape, and to spend time in a relaxed country house that has a real sense of history and the romance of bygone eras. We didnt want to take anything away from that, but we also wanted them to enjoy style and comfort. We have invested heavily, in both time and money, in making the old and the new work together. Originally a shooting lodge, all of the 14 bedrooms at Roman Camp retain their own distinctive character and original furniture. Each of the rooms will now boast luxurious bathrooms with double tubs, under-floor heating, mood lighting and jet showers. Determined to ensure that the hotel does not lose the cosy and historical feel that it has become known and loved for, Proprietors Eric and Marion have both personally overseen all the alterations taking place at the hotel. All building work is being completed in stages in order to avoid any disruption to visiting guests and is due for final completion in April 2006. Notes to editors:
