Luxury Family Christmas Breaks With Festive Extras for the Kids

Travel Unwrapped

Travel Unwrapped, a new travel company offering a collection of luxury hotels specifically for families, has negotiated a number of festive extras exclusively for families booking with them over the Christmas period.

During the month of December, Travel Unwrapped clients staying in a deluxe suite at Dukes Hotel in St James, London, can take a horse drawn carriage ride to Somerset House for ice-skating with no queue for tickets.  Back at the hotel the family can have a Duke and Duchess tea, where little ones are encouraged to dress up as dukes and duchesses to enjoy a selection of sandwiches, mini cakes and chocolate treats and hot chocolate for those who don't drink tea.  There are lots of amenities for children, including slippers, bathrobes, games consoles, children's menus and children's products.  Mums and dads can enjoy a drink in the famous Dukes bar, or savour the food from the award-winning Thirty Six Restaurant under Chef Nigel Mendham.  The price for two adults and two children for one nights is £1,435 and includes butler service, full English breakfast, afternoon tea, carriage ride, ice-skating, mulled wine or hot chocolate and mince pies on arrival and VAT.  A second night is an additional £750 per room.

Travel Unwrapped's guests staying at Bovey Castle on Dartmoor over Christmas, can enjoy some special extras for their children.  Little guests will get a star to write their Christmas Eve wishes on it, which they can give to the concierge to post.  A mince pie and carrot will be provided for Santa and Rudolph and each child will receive a present on Christmas Day.

Bovey Castle is a historic manor house that caters for children of all ages.  Facilities include activities for 7 to14 year olds and a supervised playroom for 3 to 7 year olds with toys, games and activities, including painting, clay work, biscuit decorating, puppet making and story time.  Whilst the kids have fun, parents can relax in the hotel's spa or play a round of golf on the hotel's 18-hole championship course. The whole family can take part in letterboxing trail, following clues around the hotel grounds.  The price for three nights at Bovey Castle over Christmas for two adults and a child from 5 to 15 sharing a room costs from starting from £3,045.  The price includes all meals and drinks including Christmas day lunch with festive drinks and fine wines. Children up to four sharing a room are free.

For those looking to spend Christmas in London, The Soho Hotel and The Charlotte Street Hotel are offering Travel Unwrapped's smaller clients a letter for them to write Father Christmas to be sent to the North Pole by the concierge.  At Christmas Eve turndown they will be given a plate with goodies for Santa and his reindeers and on Christmas Day, they will find a present under the Christmas tree.  The price for two adults and two children staying for one night in a one bedroom suite at the Soho Hotel on Christmas Eve, costs £564 and includes complimentary afternoon tea with cranberry macaroons and mini mince pies, breakfast, complimentary extra beds and milk and cookies for the kids.  Prices at Charlotte Street Hotel cost £960 for a one bedroom suite with breakfast, complimentary extra beds, milk and cookies for the kids, champagne for adults and a welcome gift on arrival.
