Situated in the northeastern corner of the Fijian archipelago, Laucala Island is a an uplifting escape, featuring 25 individually designed villas, a wide range of leisure activities, fresh, seasonal cuisine in all of its restaurants, and a stunningly designed tropical spa.
Located in an idyllic tropical garden setting, the spa highlights four treatment villas, each with an airily spacious private treatment room, hot stone relaxation room, outdoor flower-strewn bathtub, and private changing room. Treatments rely on native plants, herbs and flowers to soothe the senses and promote healing.
Treatments include;
- Glowing body scrub and tropical Vichy shower (45 mins) - a soft deep-cleaning exclusive sea salt body scrub relieves dull surface skin and leaves the body feeling vibrant.
- Papaya body wrap (60 mins) - body reviver that will enhance and replenish dull or dry skin leaving the entire body soft whilst been wraped with banana leaves.
- Titobu massage (60-90 mins) - a deep tissue massage meant for regaining and maintaining the balance of the body.
Countless other massages therapies, special treatments, body rituals, spa packages and salon services are also offered at Laucala's spa centre.
At the heart of Laucala's spa is the spa garden. In this garden, guests are invited to explore and learn about one of Fiji's finest collections of tropical flowers, herbs, spices and fruits. All the different ingredients implemented in the spa products are represented. Herbs and spices in all their garden variations are also displayed at the perfume pavilion, creating a botanical array of exciting scents and textures. Guests can even create their own essential oil in the distillery, with pickings from the spa garden.
Laucala Island plays host to over 354 hectares of coconut groves, with a heritage plantation over 100 years old. As tribute to the island's history, the coconut plays a significant role in many of Laucala's spa treatments. The coconuts are pressed in small batches, allowing for a fresh supply of virgin oil and milk for daily use in the spa, as well as the kitchen. The ability to infuse and adapt this pure coconut oil to recipes gives guests the elemental essence of Laucala's products.
Laucala is set amidst coconut plantations, sandy beaches, turquoise lagoons, rich green mountains and breathtaking natural beauty, often drawing comparisons as a veritable Garden of Eden in Fiji.
Ensuring minimum footprint on the island, Laucala Island is 85 percent sustainable. From the decorative orchids throughout, to the spa products and culinary fare, the majority of produce and crops are organically produced on the island's 97 hectares of farmland. Laucala's produce includes coffee, cocoa, vanilla, pepper, teas, tropical fruits, herbs and vegetables as well as animals such as poultry, cows, pigs and goats.
Australian Executive Chef, Anthony Healy, has designed the exquisite culinary delights on offer in the resort's five restaurants which include the gourmet Plantation House Restaurant, and more informal Seagrass Lounge and Restaurant. A unique mix of tropical, European, Asian and Australian tastes, the menu is seasonally designed and inspired by the island's organic produce.
Following a relaxing spa treatment, guests can continue their health/beauty regime with a specially-made green drink or smoothie at any of the five restaurants or bars on-island or in the privacy of their villa. The indigenous produce makes for fresh and healthy juices that aid in nourishing and cleansing the body of toxins. Laucala Island green juices include Pineapple Jalapeno, Simply Green, Green Detox, Green Goddess and Kale Grapefruit Apple. The Simply Green juice includes celery, a nutritional powerhouse and alkalizer, spinach, kale, cucumber, lemon and apple, creating a potent and detoxifying blend.
