Travel specialist PR and representation firm, LOTUS, has been appointed by the Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitor Bureau to handle the region's PR in the United Kingdom with immediate effect.

The Mexican destination of Riviera Nayarit stretches along 192 miles of pristine Pacific coastline framed by the majestic Sierra Madre mountains. It lies just ten minutes north of the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR). The region includes the resort town of Nuevo Vallarta, the historic village of San Blas, exclusive celebrity hideout Punta Mita, surfing haven Sayulita, scenic fishing villages, miles of serene beaches and the spectacular Banderas Bay.

LOTUS has been briefed to position Riviera Nayarit as an ideal destination for leisure travellers seeking luxurious experiences and raise the profile of the region amongst frequent travellers. Activity will include strategic tourism partnerships, a media visitation programme, content development, and a proactive press office function to continue building awareness and enhancing the destination's reputation in the UK.

The account bolsters the LOTUS LATAM division set up in 2017 to cater specifically for clients from Latin America and the Spanish speaking markets. The division is one of the company's fastest growing division including several fluent Spanish speakers with first-hand knowledge of Latin America. The existing client base includes the Latin America Travel Association (LATA), Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA), Travel Buenos Aires and the Dominican Republic, amongst others.

The account will be headed up by LOTUS managing director Kate McWilliams, supported by account manager Marta Moya Abad-Torres.
