Soho Warehouse (Arts District, Downtown)
August 2019
Soho Warehouse will be the third L.A. outpost for the London-based chain, which is set to open on the south side of the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles in August. Soho Warehouse will span more than 110,000 square feet, making it one of the biggest standalone Houses and the first with guest rooms on the West Coast. The property will include bedrooms, a gym, club spaces and a rooftop with a pool.
Silver Lake Pool and Inn (Silver Lake)
September 2019
In September, Silver Lake Pool and Inn will open at Sunset Junction just south of the lively intersection of Santa Monica and Sunset. The 54-room boutique property run by Palisociety Hotels is set to feature an elevated pool deck and Marco Polo, a coastal Italian-inspired outdoor restaurant and bar.

The Hoxton, LA (Fashion District, Downtown)
September 2019
Chic British brand Hoxton will debut The Hoxton, LA in a transformed 1925 building that was once the headquarters of the LA Railway Authority. Located in Downtown L.A.'s booming Fashion District at 11th and Broadway, the 10-story hotel will feature 174 guest rooms, three restaurants including one on the roof, multiple bars and a rooftop pool when it debuts in September 2019.

The Godfrey Hotel (Hollywood)
October 2019
The 60,000-square-foot Godfrey hotel will be a high-end boutique property fit for the lifestyle of the contemporary jet-setting professional. The project features amenities that will allow travellers to conduct business both locally and remotely, while enjoying the unique room and food experiences that the Godfrey brand is known for in Chicago and Boston. The property is slated to open with 220 rooms, a rooftop pool and a casual steakhouse called About Last Knife.
Downtown L.A. Proper Hotel (Fashion District, Downtown)

Proper Hospitality, the new brand headed by former Viceroy Hotels Chief Brad Korzen, is slated to debut their first Los Angeles hotel in Downtown L.A.'s Fashion District located at the site of the former Case Hotel. The 13-story property, which was originally built in 1924, will have 148 stunning rooms. Caroline Styne and Suzanne Goin, the legendary James Beard Award-winning L.A. restaurateurs known for a.o.c., Lucques, Tavern and The Larder, will oversee the hotel's scenic first-floor restaurant, as well as the stunning rooftop lounge.

The Wayfarer DTLA (Historic Core, Downtown)

The Wayfarer DTLA is a community-focused hotel coming to Downtown L.A.'s historic Broadway Corridor in the former Ritz Milner building. The property will feature 156 rooms, four food and beverage spots and a stairwell gym. Rockefeller Kempel Architects, who spearheaded the beautiful renovation of Hotel Figueroa, is leading this project as the second hotel under the Wayfarer name with the first located in Santa Barbara.
Fairmont Century Plaza (Century City)
Summer 2020
AccorHotels' Fairmont badge will take over the landmark Century Plaza hotel in Century City when the property reopens as Fairmont Century Plaza next year. The redeveloped 5-star property will boast 400 guestrooms and 63 luxury residences. Expected amenities include a swanky rooftop pool, a world-class 14,000-square-foot spa, and 24-hour fitness centre.
Grupo Habita Project (Arts District, Downtown)
Summer 2020
The first L.A. project for Grupo Habita, a hotel group that develops some of the hippest hotels in Mexico, Chicago, and New York, will take over a 109-year-old brick warehouse in the Arts District transforming it with modern accommodation, a rooftop lounge, garden and pool. Construction on the property is ongoing with a projected opening date of summer 2020.
W Los Angeles Downtown (South Park, Downtown)

The 250-room W Los Angeles Downtown will be located across the street from L.A. LIVE and STAPLES Center and will be the W brand's third location in Los Angeles. The hotel will feature a spa, outdoor pool deck and destination restaurants. It will boast approximately 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space perfect for the modern business traveller.
Thompson Hollywood (Hollywood)

Two Roads Hospitality's Thompson lifestyle brand, which previously operated The Hollywood Roosevelt, will return to the buzzing Hollywood neighbourhood with a new property on Wilcox Avenue between Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards. The 190-room hotel is being built by Dream Hollywood developer Relevant Group and will house meeting and events space, a fitness centre and a rooftop pool deck.
Tommie Hotel (Hollywood)

With lush greenspace and an array of communal amenities, the Tommie Hotel is designed for young professionals, artists and entrepreneurs. The Tommie Hotel Los Angeles will sit at the intersection of Wilcox and Selma Avenues in Hollywood, adjacent to the existing Mama Shelter hotel. The 212-room hotel also comes from the Two Roads Hospitality brand and Relevant Group developers.

The Dutch hotel chain citizenM in partnership with BLVD Hospitality group will open an 11-story, 315-room property at the corner of Spring and 4th. citizenM Los Angeles Downtown will be an affordable yet luxurious property that is walking distance to Grand Central Market, Angels Flight Railway and the iconic Bradbury Building.
The Cambria Hotel Los Angeles – Spring Street (Historic Core, Downtown)

Another exciting new property for Downtown L.A.'s Historic Core, The Cambria Hotel is set to occupy 13 stories in an adaptive reuse project of a 1927 building that once housed the Los Angeles Police Department Vice Squad. The 180-room hotel will target both leisure and business travellers and offer an array of high-tech amenities. Guests can look forward to a state-of-the-art fitness centre, 8,000 square feet of unique meeting space and locally-sourced onsite dining.

PetPOP (Arts District, Downtown)
July 11, 2019 – August 11, 2019
PetPOP will be a limited time art installation, amusement park, and interactive playground created to give humans a glimpse at how dogs and cats experience the world. The pop-up's goal is to raise awareness for shelter animals in need of forever homes. A portion of ticket proceeds will go to animal rescues like Wags and Walks and Paw Works who will hold animal adoptions on the property.
LA Plaza Cocina (Olvera Street, Downtown)

LA Plaza Cocina will be the first museum and teaching kitchen dedicated to Mexican food when it opens in Downtown L.A.'s Olvera Street at LA Plaza Village. The multi-disciplinary venue will aim to celebrate and educate visitors on Mexico's culinary heritage, from its indigenous roots to its contemporary interpretations through an array of exhibitions, cooking classes, lectures, workshops, and culinary festivals.

Academy Museum of Motion Pictures (Mid-City)

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is bringing the world's leading film sciences museum to L.A.'s Miracle Mile. This exciting project is designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano, and will encompass six stories of state-of-the-art galleries, exhibition spaces, movie theatres, educational areas and special event spaces. Inaugural exhibitions will include a retrospective of legendary filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki and Making of: The Wizard of Oz.
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art (Exposition Park, Downtown)

Los Angeles will welcome the 275,000-square-foot, $1-billion Lucas Museum of Narrative Art to Downtown L.A.'s Exposition Park. Works on display will come from George Lucas' personal collection of art, which consists of approximately 10,000 paintings and illustrations along with Hollywood memorabilia from films such as “Star Wars” and “The Ten Commandments.”

Skirball Cultural Center (Westside) - “Fearless Fashion: Rudi Gernreich”

A must-see, the Fearless Fashion: Rudi Gernreich exhibit at Skirball Cultural Center presents an in depth look at the ways in which the famed designer impacted fashion through his beliefs on gender identity, utilitarianism and body positivity. On view through September 1, 2019, Fearless Fashion: Rudi Gernreich features more than 80 ensembles and is the first exhibition to focus on the social and cultural impact of Gernreich's vision.

Hammer Museum (Westside) - “Sarah Lucas: Au Naturel”

The Hammer Museum presents the first American survey of the U.K.'s influential Sarah Lucas in Sarah Lucas: Au Naturel. Over her 30-year-career, Lucas has developed a provocative, humorous body of work that subverts society's traditional notions on gender, sexuality and identity as it relates to the human body and power. More than 130 photographs, collages, sculptures and installations are displayed.

Marciano Art Foundation (Mid-City) - “Donna Huanca: OBSIDIAN LADDER”

OBSIDIAN LADDER at Marciano Art Foundation is the first large-scale solo exhibition in the United States by Bolivian American artist Donna Huanca. Huanca's site-specific installation for the 13,000-square-foot Theater Gallery reveals a new topography of triggered senses by combining sound, scent and live performance. These elements are experienced together against a constellation of carved steel sculptures and her famed skin paintings.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) (Mid-City) - “The Invisible Man and the Masque of Blackness”

British-born Trinidadian artist Zak Ové's sculptural installation, The Invisible Man and the Masque of Blackness, will encapsulate the complex history of racial objectification and the evolution of black subjectivity during its run at LACMA's B. Gerald Cantor Sculpture Garden. The installation's 40 graphite figures stand tall and dignified to represent the strong resilience of the African diaspora.

Annenberg Space for Photography (Century City) - “W|ALL: Defend, Divide, and the Divine “

Annenberg Space for Photography will display 70 works covering the historical use and artistic treatment of walls over the centuries with W|ALL: Defend, Divide, and the Divine. Across diverse civilisations, walls have been central to human history, from Hadrian's Wall to our current debate over the U.S./Mexico border. Co-curated by Katie Hollander and Jen Sudul Edwards, Ph.D., this complex and intriguing exhibit will explore the various aspects of walls—artistic, social, political, and historical—in six sections: Delineation, Defense, Deterrent, the Divine, Decoration, and the Invisible.

Guests of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood are transported via television magic to nearby Pasadena, California with three sets from the hit CBS show The Big Bang Theory. As part of the regular studio tour Apartment 4A, The Broken Elevator and Caltech Physics Department Cafeteria permanently join the experience. For the 2019 season, The Rams made it to the Super Bowl Championship game and are hoping to make a second appearance this year.

NEW VENUES
LA Stadium at Hollywood Park (South Bay)

When the LA Stadium at Hollywood Park opens in 2020, it will house L.A.'s two NFL teams: the Los Angeles Chargers and the 2019 NFC Conference Champion Los Angeles Rams. The state of the art, open-air stadium will host Super Bowl LVI in 2022 and the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2028 Olympics, as well as major concerts and other entertainment year-round.

An estimated $1.25-billion project will transform the Convention Center and adjacent L.A. LIVE into a fully integrated 100-acre meetings and conventions destination with over 2 million square feet of total event space; 2,240 on-site hotel rooms; 20 restaurants; unique venues and more. The entire campus project is expected to be fully complete and operational by February 2022 for the Super Bowl Fan Fest.

After years of anticipation, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is scheduled to open this summer at The Bloc in Downtown L.A., a mixed-use dining, shopping and office complex. Foodies can't get enough of the Japanese sandwich trend in Los Angeles, and Chef Daniel Son's Katsu Sando is at the top of fans' lists. Katsu Sando currently serves their beloved sandos on Sundays at Smorgasburg LA located at ROW DTLA. Now, Chef Son has plans to open a brick and mortar location before the end of 2019 in the heart of Chinatown. The eatery will serve his sandos along with conbini, grab-and-go, style foods.
Death & Co. (Arts District, Downtown)

Notable New York City-born cocktail bar Death & Co., considered one of America's greatest, will come to the popular 3rd Street stretch of the Arts District later this year. The 3,000-square-foot bar and kitchen will have a menu like NYC's East Village location as well as a secondary bar in the back of the venue reserved for private events.
The Barish (Hollywood)

James Beard Award winner and Michelin-starred Chef Nancy Silverton will open The Barish, a large-scale Italian steakhouse, at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt as part of a revamp of the hotel's dining options ahead of awards season. The restaurant will specialise in meat focused dishes and baked pastas and will feature a wood-fired grill oven in the centre of the dining room.

San Pedro Public Market (San Pedro)

The Los Angeles waterfront will see dramatic improvements to its dining options as early as 2021. The new San Pedro Public Market will feature a 15-stall food hall, five restaurants next to the waterfront and an outdoor garden seating that is both pet and family-friendly. Once the second phase of construction is complete, the San Pedro Public Market will house retail shops, a 5,000-seat waterfront amphitheatre concert venue, playgrounds, recreation areas, waterfront taxis and cruises.

Famed Mexico City Chef Enrique Olvera, considered the master of modern Mexican food, and Mexican-American Chef Daniela Soto-Innes, will open two highly-anticipated standalone projects in the Arts District. Damien will focus on botanicals and seafood in a 160-seat space. Ditriot will focus on casual dining serving mostly vegetarian tacos.

Nic's on Beverly is a plant-based restaurant by Nic Adler and a collective of L.A. creatives including Executive Chef Ryan Ososky. The casual eatery serves a variety of cuisines in a vegan-friendly form. Thoughtfully handcrafted cocktails from the mind of Beverage Director Jason Eisner, known for the vegan-friendly cocktail menu at Gracias Madre and Block Party Highland Park, are a must-try.
Angler (Beverly Grove)

Angler is a seafood focused restaurant from Michelin-starred Chef Joshua Skenes and Saison Hospitality located in the heart of Los Angeles at the recently remodelled Beverly Center. This is the second location for Angler, which originated in San Francisco, and marks the acclaimed Bay Area chef's first venture into L.A.

Tacos 1986 (Historic Core, Downtown)

The Tijuana-style Tacos 1986, which started as a Hollywood stand, opened their first brick and mortar in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles in late June. The extra cheesy tacos, created by Victor Delgado and Jorge “Joy” Alvarez -Tostado, are popular on social media and have gained positive acclaim from restaurant critics like the LA Times.
Antico (Larchmont Village)

Chef Chad Colby, formerly of Chi Spacca, opened his first solo venture along Beverly Boulevard in the newly-dubbed “East Larchmont Village.” Antico is a rustic Italian spot untethered to any region with an emphasis on wood-fired cuisine. The menu heavily features grilled meats, prepared vegetables and handmade pasta classics.
Thai Town Marketplace (East Hollywood)

Thai Town Marketplace is a community-based Southeast Asian food hall that aims to serve delicious dishes, provide small businesses with an opportunity to serve their food, train upstart businesses, create jobs for local, low-income individuals and encourage the use of a unified public space. The public market houses 12 indoor food stalls and six outdoor retail kiosks.
Gran Blanco (Venice)

Gran Blanco, developed by the Aussie owners of nearby Great White, is a casual Mediterranean restaurant and bar in the heart of Venice located next the famed Venice Sign and boardwalk. The menu is composed of seasonal shared plates highlighting fresh California produce. The full-bar and cocktail menu extends into the late evening when a curated vinyl soundtrack hand-picked from the owner's own personal record collection begins to play.

PUP Program

Pets Unstressing Passengers (PUP) is a therapy dog program at LAX providing stress relief and comfort to passengers through warm and furry interactions with pets. Certified by the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, therapy dogs and handlers roam the departures levels in the gate areas of each terminal, visiting travellers awaiting flights to provide comfort, as well as vital airport information.

LAX Modernisation Program
Through 2023
In operation since 1928, LAX is amid a multibillion-dollar modernisation program, the largest public works project in Los Angeles history. It includes a new, 12-gate Midfield Satellite Concourse (MSC) which will serve as an addition to Tom Bradley International Terminal, set to open in 2020, and the Landside Access Modernisation Program (LAMP), which includes a 2.25-mile Automated People Mover (APM) that will connect three on-airport stations to Metro Rail and transit services, set to open by 2023.
