The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (L.A. Tourism) is returning to Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) bigger than ever before, hosting their first standalone exhibit and rolling out the red carpet to attending buyers to inspire them to consider L.A. as their next destination.
As the gateway to North America and a business hub in its own right, L.A. remains a go-to MICE destination, offering “only-in-L.A.” unique venue spaces including Hollywood movie studios, famous theatres and private residences for hire, home to the rich and famous.
Affectionately known as the 'City of Angels', the diverse and multicultural neighbourhoods of L.A. are home to a variety of hotels, from hipster to iconic, and boutique to world-renowned. With more than 97,800 hotel rooms ready to welcome your group, L.A. boasts a more competitive room rate per night than New York and San Francisco[1]. Your clients will also be spoiled for choice when it comes to their offsite events and activity programs. There is plenty to discover from hip celebrity dining options, a hot nightlife scene, world-class shopping, 'bucket-list' sports experiences such as the L.A. Lakers and Dodgers and outdoor activities suited to the 292 days of year round sunshine.
L.A. Tourism's Regional Director of Australia and New Zealand Craig Gibbons said, “We are returning to AIME this year with an independent booth to show our commitment to the local market. This comes at an important time for L.A., following the launch of our dedicated MICE planning tool - www.meetla.com. We are looking forward to partnering with some of our valued members at AIME 2016 to inspire and educate delegates about how they can sprinkle some Hollywood magic over their next MICE program.”
Joining L.A. Tourism will be some of their valued members including:
- Universal Studios Hollywood: inject some Hollywood glitz and glam into your next MICE gathering, with unique venue spaces including working studios and red carpet screenings at CityWalk Cinemas complete with your own paparazzi. The team can bond over a range of bucket list activities such as back lot tours, theme park rides and the much-anticipated attraction, 'The Wizarding World of Harry Potter', opening this April.
- InterContinental Century City: your next event could be in the heart of the action with this iconic Hollywood landmark. Located on the Avenue of the Stars, next door to Fox Studios and only minutes away from Rodeo Drive and L.A.'s sun soaked beaches. Having just completed a multi-million dollar renovation, this luxury property has since introduced Terrace Suites, a Grand Chateau meeting room and spa enhancements guaranteed to impress your guests.
L.A. Tourism recently launched meetLA.com, a comprehensive, one-stop destination website for meeting professionals looking to conduct business in Los Angeles. Createdspecifically to accommodate the needs of meeting and event professionals, the site offers tools to ensure buying decisions are simple and stress-free, while allowing organisers to navigate the city with ease.
