From Impressionism to prehistoric Siberian textiles and American Pop Art, this four-day tour celebrates the diversity of London's museums and galleries through eight outstanding temporary exhibitions. Including talks by an expert lecturer (and sometimes the exhibition curator), participants enjoy a wide variety of themes and content, from major blockbusters to the small and niche. With five-star accommodation near St James's Palace and free time to spare, there is the chance to explore the permanent collections of each gallery and museum, or to traverse the bustling city streets and serene royal parks. Led by art historian Patrick Bade, former senior lecturer at Christies Education.
Includes entry to exhibitions; Canaletto and the Art of Venice (The Queen's Gallery), Reflections: Van Eyck and the Pre-Raphaelites (National Gallery), Treasures of the Scythians (British Museum), Cézanne Portraits(National Portrait Gallery), Monochrome: Painting in Black and White (National Gallery), Impressionists in London: Artists in Exile (Tate Britain), Matisse in the Studio (Royal Academy), and either Jasper Johns(Royal Academy) or Opera: Passion, Power and Politics (V&A).
Prices from £1,590 per person (two sharing) including central London five-star accommodation, breakfasts and three dinners with wine, transport by taxi, admission to eight exhibitions, talks by the lecturer and all taxes and tips.
