The Diputació de Lleida, via the Patronat de Turisme, announces the 30th Edition of the “Pica d'Estats” International Tourism Prize for Press, Radio, Television and Internet Journalism for the diffusion of news about the tourist attractions of the local districts of Lleida.

BENEFICIARIES

The Prize is aimed at authors who have published or broadcast their works of journalism in different forms of mass media and whose priority is to promote tourism in the local districts of Lleida. The same author will be able to compete in more than one Prize category.

REQUISITES OF THE WORKS PRESENTED

The competition is open to all journalistic content published in, or broadcast by, any type of mass media (written press, radio, television, Internet, etc.) and produced in any language, within the period between 19th October 2017 and 18th October 2018. In the case of cross-media work, the authors will only be able to compete in one category, except for photography.

A given author, or authors, will only be able to present a maximum of three works per category, with priority being given to what they consider to most faithfully reflect the language of the media in question. Photography is an exception: it will be possible to compete in two different categories.

DEADLINE FOR PRESENTATIONS

The presentation and registration of works must be carried out within the period between 19th October and 19th November 2018 (both dates inclusive).

FORMATS

A.- Written press: an original copy of the publication in which the article appeared, or a copy in PDF format.

B.- Radio and television: a recording of the information or reports presented. In the case of news programmes, a selection of three connected programmes as they were broadcast.

C.- Internet: the presentation of the work just as it was published on the website, whether presented on a multimedia CD/DVD, or as an HTML, Flash, JPEG or GIF file, or printed on paper.

ECONOMIC ENDOWMENT

The Prize has an economic grant of € 45,000 distributed in 8 categories and with the following amounts:

1 special prize of € 10,000.00 for the best work among the 8 categories of the award.

7 prizes of 5,000.00 euros for each of the remaining categories.

JURY

The jury will be formed by recognised professionals from the world of communications.

The jury will meet in Lleida on 2th February 2019. The prize may not be awarded if the jury considers this to be opportune.
