Tuesday 10 June ANTOR welcomed 21 tourist boards including Lithuania and over 80 members of the travel trade for their inaugural “ANTOR Meets the Travel Trade” networking event in aid of building strong relationships between tourist boards and the personnel who sell the destination.
Throughout the evening members of the travel trade had the opportunity to network with ANTOR members. The event provided a chance for the Lithuanian Tourism Office in the UK to speak with over 80 members travel trade to network and discuss new products, niche markets and new program ideas such as medical tourism, Lithuania's Amber route, wildlife, winter activities and homesteads. The evening ended with a business card prize draw with many prizes being offered including Lithuania's coveted goodie bag including a leather travel wallet and amber USB stick - Saranna Murphy and Jack Leaf from Travel Counsellors were the lucky winners. Cindy Landlust, Travel Trade Manager for Lithuania Tourism Office in the UK commented “The event was a great idea as it enabled us to speak to so many travel agents and tour operators under one roof within a few hours and build relationships where necessary rather than aimlessly sending emails and we could answer direct questions. I look forward to the next event!”
