Literally The Best Literary Festival, The Reykjavik International Literary Festival: September 11th- 15th 2013

Icelandair Hotels

Reykjavik boasts one of Europe's best literary festivals, and where better to stay than Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura, that hosts weekly 'bed time' story readings! Get ready to snuggle under a sheep skin rug with a hot chocolate and be engrossed by traditional Icelandic stories after seeing some of the world's top selling authors speak during the festival.

Every Thursday night at 9pm, guests can come together and listen to a guest speaker read bedtime stories in English. Guests are encouraged to wear their pyjamas (the sillier the better!) and each week the evening features a different theme from Icelandic literature, including folklore and crime.

Writer wannabes and passionate readers will love listening to readings, interviews and group discussions led by both international and Icelandic authors at The Reykjavík International Literary Festival. The event takes place in various locations across Reykjavik such as the beautiful Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre and more intimate locations such as Nordic House. To finish off the week, visitors can even dance the night away with their favourite authors at the Bi-Annual Literary Ball on the Saturday evening.

We are awaiting 2013's line up of authors to be announced with baited breath but if previous years are anything to go by, this year will not be a disappointment. The Reykjavik International Literary Festival in the past has welcomed Martin Amis, A.S Byatt, Nick Hornby, Tracy Chevalier and Paul Auster, who all made fantastic speeches (and loved hitting it up at the Ball for a post festival dance!)

Guests can enjoy four nights at Icleandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura from £384 per person (double room) including return flights with Icelandair from London Heathrow to Reykjavik departing on 11th September 2013. The weekly bedtime stories are free for guests!
