Heliskiing - the Last Frontier 05 Aug 2013
Lightfoot Travel & Last Frontier Heli-Ski Press Lunch - Hong Kong

Lightfoot Travel

Hong Kong-based luxury tour operator Lightfoot Travel and Canadian heliskiing company Last Frontier are teaming up to hold an intimate lunch for the press at one of Hong Kong’s hottest new restaurants, Duddell’s, from 12.00 to 13.30 on Thursday, August 15th.

Last Frontier Heli-skiing has been a pioneering force in heli-skiing and heli-boarding since 1996. With two unique lodging experiences in Northern British Columbia, they have access to the largest single heliski area on the planet. The region enjoys massive snowfalls, some of the freshest powder in the world, and Last Frontier offers a range of different tours around this heliskiing Mecca.

“Let's face it, all ski trips are good. We'd never try to compete with the charm of lunching outside a 16th century church in the European Alps, or the 'bling' of Aspen and Whistler, but when it comes to the actual skiing, nothing really compares to heli-skiing. Vast expenses of deserted, untracked, deep, fluffy powder – just you and your buddies, enjoying run after run of heli-happiness,” says Last Frontier Partner Mike Watling.

Leading small groups of maximum 5 people, Last Frontier guides are the best of the best, and all are ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides) or UIAGM (Union Internationale des Associations de Guides de Montagnes) certified.

“They are gurus of the mountains, keeping the skiing as exciting as possible but always with safety at the forefront,” says Mike Watling.

Already popular in North America and Europe, Last Frontier is looking to raise awareness of the sport around Asia.

“Hong Kong is showing real promise due to ease of access into Vancouver, and the possibility to combine a heli-ski trip with a stay in Whistler or a few days in the city,” explains Mike Watling.
