Legendary tennis coach Nick Bollettieri to be inducted into The International Tennis Hall of Fame

Legendary tennis coach Nick Bollettieri reached a new milestone when the International Tennis Hall of Fame announced he will join WTA star Lindsay Davenport, wheelchair tennis great Chantal Vandierendonck, and fellow industry leaders Jane Brown Grimes and John Barrett in the inductee Class of 2014.

Over the past three decades, Bollettieri has coached ten world no. 1 players including Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Monica Seles, Boris Becker and Maria Sharapova. At the age of 82, Bollettieri is still active on the tennis courts for ten hours a day, six days a week.

Monica Seles, former world no. 1 and member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame says "I've long supported Nick's entrance into the Hall of Fame and it's nice to finally see it realised. As a coach, Nick has an eye unlike any other. As a person, he has a heart unlike any other. Through instruction and encouragement, he has positively influenced countless athletes at all levels of the game."

In 1978, Bollettieri founded the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy (NBTA) in the Bradenton Area, the first tennis boarding school that integrated intense athletic training on and off the court with academic curriculum.
