Learn to Play Like a Tour Pro With New Golf Schools at Quinta Do Lago

Quinta do Lago

Renowned for its innovative approach and forward-thinking attitude, Quinta do Lago in Portugal is offering amateurs the enticing chance to learn how to play like a tour professional after launching a range of intensive new golf tuition breaks for the new season.

Using the resort's Paul McGinley Golf Academy – the only one of its kind in Europe – golfers can enjoy the facilities at one of the world's leading academies when they sign up to Quinta do Lago's new 3-Day Golf Schools and specialist 'Is Your Short Game Good Enough' clinics.

Aimed at golfers keen to improve all areas of their game and reduce their handicaps, the three-day golf school's unique programme includes tuition, a custom-fitting experience at the resort's TaylorMade Performance Center and three rounds of golf on a selection of Quinta do Lago's three championship courses.

In addition, guests will benefit from extensive expert analysis of their swing technique at the performance centre – which is equipped with the latest technology including Trackman and SAM PuttLab. The intensive tuition breaks cost €950 (approx £680) per person (for a minimum of two players), with the next school taking place from May 14-16.

Quinta do Lago is also offering a first-class option for amateurs who continue to struggle to get to grips with their play on and around the greens at its new short game practice area.

Available all-year-round at a cost of €360 (approx £260) per person , the resort's one-day short game masterclasses offer expert advice, tuition and video assessment – including SAM PuttLab and pitching launch monitor analysis – on areas including wedge and bunker play, chipping and putting to help eliminate any problems near the putting surface.

Quinta do Lago's TaylorMade Performance Center is the only facility of its kind in Southern Europe and is located on the resort's expansive driving range. Opened in May 2013, the centre is operated by trained TaylorMade technicians, offering golfers a custom-fitting experience testing hundreds of club and iron options, ensuring the best combination for every player's swing.

The official winter training base of England Golf for the next four years, Quinta do Lago's outstanding practice facilities are matched by three first-class championship courses including its new North Course – co-designed by victorious Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley and Beau Welling and voted 'Best New Golf Course in Europe' at the 2014 World Golf Awards.

Set amongst 2,000 acres of the picturesque Ria Formosa Natural Park, the prestigious family resort offers the very best in award-winning sports and leisure facilities and there's plenty to keep guests occupied away from the fairways, with events, tennis, cycling and watersports just some of the extensive leisure activities available.
