La Manga Club

With Andy Murray's victory at Wimbledon and the men's team regaining its place in the elite Davis Cup World Group, British tennis is ending 2013 on a high and lovers of the game can interact and learn from the country's top players at a unique adult training academy at Spain's La Manga Club next month.

Europe's premier tennis destination has teamed up with the Lawn Tennis Association to offer tennis fans the exciting chance to improve their skills and share the secrets of Britain's elite players - with places available from €503 per person (approx £420) for a seven-night stay.

Murray's brother Jamie, Colin Fleming, Jonny Marray and Ross Hutchins - preparing to make his comeback to the tennis circuit after making a full recovery from cancer - will all head to La Manga Club for a men's elite squad training camp at the LTA's overseas training base from December 15-22.

The players are using the camp to help prepare for January's Australian Open and Britain's Davis Cup World Group match against USA shortly afterwards and, as part of the five-star pre-Christmas tennis break, participants will be treated to a series of exhibition displays from the top players and watch them put their paces by LTA doubles coach Louis Cayer.

In addition, guests can take part in a two-part doubles masterclass themselves with Cayer and a question-and-session with the players as well as enjoying daily weekday lessons from La Manga Club's expert team of coaches.

Packages, which can be booked from December 14-21 or December 15-22, include seven nights' accommodation, breakfast, tennis academy programme, fitness pass, Wi-Fi and tax, with prices starting from €503 per person staying in the four-star Las Lomas apartments, and from €678 per person (approx £565) staying in the resort's five-star Hotel Principe Felipe.

All breaks are based on two people sharing a room while players will also enjoy complimentary use of Spa La Manga Club's fitness centre, indoor pool, saunas and steam rooms.

Featuring a tennis academy including 20 clay courts, four hard courts and four on artificial grass, La Manga Club boasts some of the best facilities in Europe and British stars past and present including Murray, Laura Robson, Tim Henman and Elena Baltacha have all used the resort to train over the last decade. It has also been used to stage Davis Cup and Fed Cup matches.

The LTA's three winter camps will bring to a close another memorable tennis year for La Manga Club, with South African number one Kevin Anderson and the Russian Ladies' Tennis Federation also among the leading names to use the resort as a warm weather training base.

Set over 1,400 acres in an area three times the size of Monaco, La Manga Club continues to set the benchmark for sports and leisure destinations across Europe and is widely known as Spain's flagship resort.

The venue boasts unrivalled facilities as a sport and leisure resort including three 18-hole championship golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and a 2,000sqm spa and fitness centre. It also offers the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 20 bars and restaurants.
