On 12th September the Medoc marathon will be held in Pauillac. However, this is no ordinary marathon, as dotted along the route are 23 wine stops; a true celebration of the region's finest produce. Once the event is complete, each runner receives a celebratory bottle of wine, and a breathtaking firework display will explode into action, to end the day.

For those who want to sample some of the best cuisine in the Aquitaine region, Michelin starred head chef Nicolas Magie offers a sophisticated five course gastronomic experience of a lifetime, overlooking the bright lights of Bordeaux. There is even a vineyard and a state of the art cookery school at Le Saint-James, offering a wide variety of courses for adults and children.
